I was invited to share a week with close family friends. We drove from Germany to Italy-about 7 hour drive. Feuerstein is AMAZING. From the environment all the way down to the location is nothing short of a paradise. The Staff here are fabulous and the food is spectacular. I can not say enough good things about Feuerstein!

“Expectations exceeded! Wonderful family holiday”

Blown away by this place. Expectations were high but I feel like it exceeded them time after time. We spent 9 nights here at the end of May. The location is spectacular, tucked away in a beautiful, peaceful valley surround by mountains, forests and waterfalls. Everything in the hotel is finished to a high standard, and the facilities & activities on offer for kids is incredible - a bit overwhelming at first but I can safely say we soon got our heads around it all and made the most of everything on offer! Great kids club programme with wonderful staff, allowing for some free time and a little bit of luxury for the adults. The included food offering is seriously good - 3 course table service dinner every night as well as an impressive salad and cold starter buffet! - but we also tried the Artifex gourmet restaurant - a wonderful experience. Everything is done to make life as easy as possible, allowing everyone to relax and just enjoy the moment. So many nice touches throughout, and the staff were beyond helpful and friendly. If in doubt, just ask - the answer was pretty much always YES. A few little nice touches we found especially useful: • lunch runs from 12:30 until 16:30, really helpful for a late afternoon snack for hangry kids to tide them over until dinner. • kids robes provided in the rooms • good DIY laundry facility, €5 per wash, collect tokens from reception, washing powder already provided in the machines. There are also dryers or drying racks to borrow and take to the room. • bedtime stories for little ones left in the room each night • mini pony rides offered several times per week for free - the riding lessons get booked out quite far in advance, so was lovely to have the opportunity to do this still • the wood workshop was popular with kids and adults!! • assigned table for breakfast / dinner for your entire stay made for a calm experience with no rush or wait for a table • the dining area is split in to multiple smaller rooms so doesn’t feel like a large dining hall - much quieter. • Our waiter Alex was a top highlight - such a lovely friendly guy and could not do enough to make your meal enjoyable. Hoping to return very soon!

We had a fantastic stay in late Jan, celebrating my daughters 3rd birthday here. I don't have much to add that hasnt already been said by other reviewers! This is a brilliant hotel for families, I am quite fussy when it comes to hotels (cue hours & hours of research and reading trip advisor reviews!) but I honestly couldn't fault this place, it completely delivered everything and more! There were a few areas I was concerned about prior to our stay, that I couldn't easily find information on, so I will share my concerns (and answers!) here in case helpful for others: - What would the food be like? It was great! In the lead up to our stay I noticed a few reviews mentioned the food being poor. This was not our experience at all - we found all the food to be very good (and no repetition across our 7 days). Breakfast and lunch (which runs 12-4pm, such a good idea for families with nap times etc!) are a very generous, good quality cold buffet selection alongside fresh cooked stations (pasta, pizza etc). Dinner has a selection of cold starter items/breads/salads etc in a buffet format, but is then a la carte (but with the option to grab your kid's main meal direct from the buffet section if they can't wait for it to be served!). - Would my 3 year old be able to join in the activities? The huge range of children's activities and facilities is obviously a big draw of the hotel, however I was a bit worried about whether they would be suitable for my daughter and/or if there would be age restrictions for any activities. I need not have worried! She was able to take part in every activity and the only thing I saw an age restriction on was horse riding (need to be 3yr +). If it helps reassure other parents, I would say there is no bad age to visit! Even things not technically aimed at her (eg the ninja room, the woodworkshop) she was welcome to explore and take part in - Would all the activities be fully booked up in advance? I know of Mediterranean resorts where you need to pre-book everything months in advance - this is not the case here. During our stay we booked almost everything on the day or evening before and there were no problems getting slots. There are also lots of facilities that don't need booking at all e.g. the hay barn, mud room, visiting the farm, sledging etc. 4-6pm every day there is also a 'stay and play' session for parents in the kids club which was great! Overall it was a brilliant stay and my daughter (and husband!) is already asking when we can return! My only small suggestion for improvement (as I know the family regularly look to make changes).... could an adult only pool be added in future? It was a bit inconvenient to enjoy the adult spa area but then need to cross back into the family zone to swim. During our stay the family pools were often quiet in the morning (when many children were at ski school) but I imagine in the summer the outdoor pool might become quite crowded? A small point though in what was otherwise a wonderful holiday!
