The area of Riva is visually Stunning with a number of interesting things to do. There is easy access to transport to explore other areas of Lake Guarda like Limone and Malcesine and the hotel is in an ideal location to enjoy the town and the beautiful northern part of the lake (lunch at Bastione was superb). We chose half board accommodation for a week, and all food provided was excellent quality, served by extremely friendly Restaurant staff. If I returned i'd probably stay B&B as a personal preference, as there are plenty of other local places to eat and sometimes you just want something simple like a burger/pizza. The rooms are spacious, clean, and quite modern. The grounds are all very attractive & well kept, providing easy access to the lake with onsite options for transport ie Bikes. Only a few ‘Minor’ points of contention... The TV had very limited English speaking channels, pretty much only Great Tv & Great Action if you don't want to watch news, but neither off these had good reception most evenings when we tried to watch them. Was a bit odd not having a shower door in our room, don't know if this is standard across all rooms, because my children wouldn't have appreciated this if they had accompanied us. On arrival we were told by the receptionist that we could get a voucher to exchange dinner 2 nights allowing us to try the bistro/pool restaurant. However, when we returned to reception a couple of days later to get this we were then told we couldn't do this.. and the pool restaurant was no longer doing dinner(first week of Oct) which felt like a slap in the face. We tried the Bistro independently of this however, and it also serve lovely food. Another thing that i'd question, was seeing what looked like a 'coypu' roaming the grounds & enjoying the swimming pool at night... not sure about the hygiene of this. Despite that the pool area always looked clean and tidy, and had an amazing backdrop of the nearby mountains which I loved. I’ve stayed in a number of places in Italy, and this is probably one of my favourite locations yet. Overall, we really enjoyed staying here, and I would happily return.

“Why do I keep going back. I love it.”

I’m not sure how many times we have stayed at the hotel but to me it is the epitome of rest relaxation and fine food. I love it. The staff are so friendly the Hotel clean and tidy and the grounds are beautiful. Will I go again? Of course I will.

It pains me to write this as this hotel has been our favourite for many years, however, it is now not what it was sadly. It pains me to write this as this hotel has been our favourite for many years, however, it is now not what it was sadly. The staff in the restaurants, bar and the cleaners are still as lovely and helpful as ever. The grounds are still as beautiful. Unfortunately, the management are not customer focused and many of the female reception staff are the same. The hotel was refurbished 8 or 9 years ago but now needs some more attention ie: I always enjoyed an early swim in the indoor pool to look out the window and feel like I was swimming in nature. However, now, the glass in the windows is heavily limescaled to the point you can't see out clearly and they remained uncleaned with fingerprints all over for the entire 2 weeks of our stay. The exterior pools seriously need updating and the sunbeds at the adult pool can only be described as disgusting - black mould growing all over. The bedrooms are ok but the furniture and floorboards are beginning to look tired. The prices have sky rocketed over the years but sadly the quality has not kept up.
