The setting of this wonderful hotel is spectacular surrounded by mountains and the lake, but what maybe separates it from other hotels in the region are the wonderful sub-tropical gardens which are beautiful to walk around. They were particularly lush and well-maintained having enjoyed the summer rain. We really liked our room in one of the older buildings in the grounds with plenty of space, and the proximity of the resort not only to the lake but also the Trentino region and both sides of Lake Garda. The resort is really well run and has an old-school charm without being stuffy or pretentious; everyone is welcome young and old. We stayed for half board and enjoyed our evenings in the Aria Restaurant which was efficiently run with some wonderful young staff - including Riccardo, Andrea and Beatrice - being carefully guided by the very kind and welcoming Salvatore.

We had a wonderful experience at Du Lac et Du Parc Grand Resort in Riva del Garda. From the first moment, we were impressed by the warm welcome and professionalism of the reception team, the beautiful accommodation, the stunning surroundings, and the exceptional atmosphere of this unique resort. The magnificent park, beautiful pools, and the excellent pizzeria in the garden created the perfect setting for a relaxing and memorable stay. We especially appreciate the kindness and helpfulness of the reception team – when we made our new reservation, one of the receptionists kindly noted our preferred accommodation category for our next visit. We are returning at the end of September and are already looking forward to coming back regularly twice a year. Our sincere thanks and great respect go to the entire management and the wonderful team of Du Lac et Du Parc Grand Resort for creating such a special place.

Definitely not a luxury hotel in our opinion, In terms of value for money, this hotel was 1 out of 5! We had high expectations because of the high price, but the service and standard was disappointing. That being said, the park grounds and outside environment were superb. Room: we were in a suite with a hot tub and garden access to the adults only pool. The space in the room was great and clean, but the decor was a bit dated. Lovely fresh flowers and bubbles in the room. But no hand soap in the bathroom was a bit strange. Facilities: the pool area was lovely but be warned, it’s very deep for kids! The shallower baby section was fine and our children enjoyed swimming every day. However, the opening times for towels and the pool bar were super odd! Not being able to pick up towels between 11 and 4pm was irritating to say the least. We were waiting in line to order a drink and the waiter closed the hatch at 5.31pm right as we got to the front! Who doesn’t want an Aperol at the pool at 5.30?! Strange…! To be honest we would have expected waiter service at the pool for a hotel of this price range, and the service at the bar was also generally pretty unfriendly. We didn’t play padel, because additional charges of 60 euros for renting the court seemed very excessive given the price we’d paid for the hotel. We’ve been to much cheaper places where padel and tennis courts in the grounds were just open for guests to use. Breakfast: good selection, but again weird rules about excess charges - for example charging for avocado slices with scrambled eggs! We had a lovely waiter on most of our mornings at the rooftop breakfast. But on the whole the breakfast experience was better in the main restaurant: less waiting, less noise and more choice. In busy times placing the desk for the rooftop further towards the lift would avoid a bottleneck in the small corridor. Not a great overall experience up there overall. Overall, we really loved the location and park environment, but felt so disappointed given the price we paid with regards to quality and availability of facilities, overall service level and excess charges.

We stayed at Du Lac et Du Parc in 2018, 2019 and returned again in 2026. We genuinely love this place. That's why we kept coming back, which makes it especially sad to write this review. This is one of the most beautiful places on Lake Garda. The stunning mountains, crystal-clear lake, amazing cycling routes and ferry trips to the charming lakeside towns are the reasons we love coming here. The hotel grounds are still beautiful, with lovely gardens, ducks, turtles and even an otter living in the ponds. Having the bike rental directly at the hotel is extremely convenient, and the staff there are always friendly, professional and helpful. Unfortunately, compared with our stays in 2018 and 2019, the level of service has declined noticeably. There is much less attention to detail and guest comfort than there used to be. The food quality has also become worse. We would especially like to thank Luca at breakfast and another waiter wearing glasses. They were the only staff members who consistently smiled and made guests feel welcome. The main issues we experienced: * During our entire two-week stay, only one of the two washing machines was working, so there were always long queues. Laundry requires €3 tokens, and the machine accepts only €5 and €10 banknotes, not coins. * There is no water available for the steam iron. If you forget to bring your own bottle, you cannot use the steam function. Any bottles left by guests are removed by the staff. * Beach towels can only be collected or exchanged between **9:00–11:00** and **4:00–7:00 p.m.** During our two-week stay we managed to exchange them only twice. * In 2018 and 2019, **Paulino**, the duck mascot, walked around the hotel several times a day and was one of the highlights for children. Now he appears for about five minutes once a day. During our two-week stay we saw him only once, after waiting specifically for about 30 minutes. * The floors in our room were rarely cleaned properly. * There is no drying rack on the balcony. For a hotel in Riva del Garda, where many guests come for cycling holidays, this is a major inconvenience. At 34°C, guests constantly need to wash cycling clothes, swimsuits and sportswear, but there is nowhere convenient to dry them. * The balcony windows were never cleaned. Bird droppings remained on the glass throughout our entire stay. * Breakfast is much more limited than it used to be. The selection is small, and egg dishes can only be ordered through a waiter. * Live music is played every evening from **7 p.m. until 11 p.m.** It is clearly audible in the rooms and makes it difficult to relax. * Complimentary bottled water is provided only on the day of arrival and is never replenished. * Soundproofing is poor. You can clearly hear housekeeping in the morning, people walking along the corridor and conversations on neighbouring balconies. * No one offered to help with our luggage at check-in unless we specifically asked. * The hotel has only a few umbrellas, although summer rain around Lake Garda is very common. * The swimming pool was cloudy and did not look clean. * The shampoo provided is of very poor quality. It is truly disappointing to write this review because this hotel used to be one of our favourite places on Lake Garda. We returned after seven years expecting the same warm atmosphere and high standards we remembered from 2018 and 2019. Sadly, the service, food and overall guest experience have declined significantly. We sincerely hope the management will pay attention to these issues, because this hotel and its beautiful location deserve much better.
