First solo holiday & could not have found or asked for a better place to be. The staff made me feel so welcome, assured & comfortable, so very helpful & assisted my every need. The rooms where amazingly clean, shower was beautiful, had everything you needed, found the cork screw a little tricky, but got there in the end! Lol. I was half board & the food was out of this world. Morning such a light, luscious breakfast, with a very good selection. Old Town only 1.5k away, walk/run around the lake. Beautiful. Many options for lunch & I wasnt shy, happy placed myself around the restaurants, pizza all the way! The evening meals at the hotel, where excellent. Every night was a different choice/menu (I was there for a week) Spot on perfect. Incredible really.👌 A shout out to Daniel & Michael (bar staff of the roof top bar) your incredible team work was very impressive, you easily run that place single handed. Ladies behind the reception desk, thank you for everything ❤️ 🙏 I felt very safe, stratified, welcomed & comfortable. Loved every moment. LB

“Superb from start to finish”

This was our sixth visit to Lake Garda and by far the best hotel we have stayed in there. This was our sixth visit to Lake Garda and by far the best hotel we have stayed in there. We weren't expecting a heatwave to start with and so the kagouls and fleeces stayed in the case I'm glad to say. We were met at the Kristal with a warm welcome by the receptionists (who all speak good English) and that really set the tone for the rest of the week. Our air conditioned room on the 4th floor was spotless and well furnished. The lovely lady who looked after it all week replaced our wet pool towels with new ones while we were at dinner and always went in to clean while we were at breakfast. Attention to detail which sets this hotel apart from others. The location of the hotel is superb with just a 20 minute stroll into town and 5 minutes to the beach. We were however so glad to use the hotel's free shuttle bus in the 35° heat. This runs on demand and will drop you either at the harbour or in the historic centre. The driver was always pleasant and smiling, even when asked for a lift at short notice when I'm sure he was already busy. The food in the restaurant was nothing short of outstanding. We live near a Michelin starred restaurant and a menu similar to that served at the Kristal would cost upwards of £100 a head. Five courses, all beautifully presented and served - an absolute delight every evening. The staff were genuinely pleased to see you enjoy their food and Massimo, the Maitre D' and his whole team were wonderful professionals. Breakfast was served on the roof terrace which involved a tremendous amount of work each day for the staff, setting up and clearing away afterwards. They all work so hard and the waitresses were unfailingly pleasant and polite. We loved Happy Hour in the rooftop bar with free snacks. The two guys who run the evening bar single handed are absolutely fantastic at what they do. We often saw S. Tonelli, the manager there as well chatting to guests and ensuring everyone was happy. We had an early flight on departure, but were served an early breakfast which was a bonus and very welcome as the queues at passport control meant that we wouldn't have had time to eat at Verona airport. All in all, it was a fabulous week and we absolutely wouldn't hesitate to return to the Kristal.

We had an excellent holiday at the Hotel Kristal Palace. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel and room was imaculate. The facilities and location were excellent. We stayed half board and enjoyed a large choice of delicious food for breakfast. Our evening meal was a treat every night. The choice of menu was excellent. The chef added an extra special surprise course each night and the deserts were of the highest quality. In all an excellent hotel with the finest cuisine.

“Nice week but would not return”

The good bits: Great location, and most of the staff are really excellent. The guys working the bar in an evening were superb, and the sommelier for the evening meal was excellent. They couldn't do enough for you. The bad bits: Firstly, the rooms. We booked a 5th floor 'executive suite with panorama view'. This is in no way a suite, and it had a bog standard balcony. Not very panoramic. The worst bit was the noise from above. Chairs, tables, loungers and parasols being dragged around and moved all day. This started from 6am with staff setting up for breakfast until people cleared out after the entertainment every night around midnight. No respite whatsoever. We did move to another on the same floor, exactly the same. The breakfast is served outdoors, which means having to eat your breakfast surrounded by smokers. I know we are in Europe and I expect this when eating out at restaurants, but much prefer the non-smoking restaurant on the ground floor. When we booked the pool was advertised as heated with a whirlpool. It was neither heated or had a working whirlpool. Evening meals are very repetitive, same sauces , ingredients, served slightly different. Get's boring quickly. We found on the last two nights we could swap our evening meal for lunches at the Sky Bar - Wish we had of known this earlier. The lunch food (salads and pastas) where excellent. All in all we had a nice week, but I would not rush back unfortunately.
