We wanted to come to the Tuscany and feel like we were in the movie "Under the Tuscan sun" and was exactly what it was, front desk personal are all extremely nice and helpful, great view, I didn't know the rooms were so big with independent kitchen, since we visited during winter time they would bring the breakfast to our room, I wish I would have more time to stay longer, If I ever comeback I would stay here again

“Beautiful Tuscan retreat - made better by excellent service!”

My mum and I stayed at the Seven Resort for 6 nights and we were so impressed by the service the moment we stepped off the train. Greeted by Gian Mario, the hotel director we were whisked off to the hotel (only 5 minutes from Camucia-Cortona train station by car but we didn't drive). Shown our amazing room by Alessandro, really hard worker and very helpful - our room was beautiful, it even had refrigeration and cooking facilities, a spacious bedroom and big bathroom. Very modern and super clean every day. The swimming pool is lovely and breakfast room very cute, clean and again, the waiter there was really friendly and great worker. Receptionist Evelyne was great, soo nice and helpful - she really went out of her way to give us all the information on what to do and see in Cortona. The only thing was-during our stay the lack of a car limited us and because everyone is so used to driving, everything is just '15 minutes' away by foot! (really somewhere like 40 or more, to get to Cortona and the Barrachi vineyard - by foot I want to stress!) again-not a problem if driving!! The location of the hotel in general is really great - we were right next door to a family of sunflowers,which made for some amazing views and photographs. Not to mention the view looking up to Cortona. And only 5 minutes by car to the local train station. Buses also run during summer season and quite regular service to and from Cortona :) I highly recommend the Seven Resort!!!

“Unique, small hotel at the foothills of the mountains with great amenities”

What attracted us to this hotel was the pool... Cortona in July is hot. Also the have air conditioning (mediocre) when many hotels in the area do not. We took a chance and booked - when we received notice that we would have to call 24 hours in advance to notify the hotel or our arrival time because there was no one at the front desk full time, we wondered if we had made a mistake. We did not. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly- outstanding. The hotel has an elevator for those who don’t like to drag bags up the stairs. Free parking. Free wifi. The room are large although sparsely furnished - ours had a cabinet kitchenette which was very impressive. Clean and contemporary bathrooms. The pool is huge but chilly and used by lots of locals too as it seems to be part of the tennis club that is also on the property. So you could take a tennis lesson if you have the time. There is an outstanding restaurant on the property. Their staff is friendly and very accommodating. The menu offers a very wide variety of selections for nearly any diet need. The atmosphere is very relaxed and comfortable. The food is excellent. There were many locals at the restaurant as well. This place is a little gem just before you drive up the hill to Cortona village. We would stay here again when in the area or for sure stop for dinner.

Clean and functional rooms that are ideally situated for exploring Southern Tuscany or Umbria. The rooms are sparsely furnished with the kitchen being just about functional (no tin opener, bottle opener, cooking knife, wine glasses etc.) not a problem if you're going to eat out every night but if you plan on cooking you will be limited somewhat (no microwave!). For reasons unknown the TV is about seven or eight feet in the air. Not really very helpful for watching TV really. The wifi is pretty good - went off every so often but otherwise fairly reliable with speeds 4-5mb as standard. The rooms are regularly cleaned but not thoroughly- you can expect new sheets or towels but sweeping up or mopping is not going to happen (and there's no mop or dustpan provided, so unless you want to buy your own...). Staff are friendly and helpful at the hotel. Breakfast is relaxed and they will make you a coffee or hot drink of your choice. Breakfast choice consists of ham, cheese, croissant, apricot filled croissant, yogurt, cornflakes, brioche, cake, banana, and various jams etc. The pool is a bit of a local attraction. If you're expecting quiet and solitude this isn't for you. There's a constant influx of locals either working on their tan, entertaining their kids or playing volleyball. Italian radio is played over loudspeaker quite a bit too which can be a tad wearing depending on how talented you think Ed Sheeran is. On the plus side the pool is 25m in length (not Olympic sized as a previous review states - if I ever find a hotel with a 50m pool I'd be fairly impressed). It is deep enough and wide enough to do some proper laps - get in before 2pm to avoid being dive bombed by a kid's birthday party. No matter how busy it was though we always got a sun bed and parasol which is useful. There's also a cafe for getting a sandwich. Cortona is about a mile walk away - but the walk is steep! Over that mile expect to climb about 750 feet in height. If you run up it will take about 20 mins or so if you normally pace about 4-5 mins /km on the flat. If you walk expect it to be about an hour to an hour and half so don't do it when the heat is over 30C. Not without its flaws but a decent place to stay, and could be so much better with a few improvements.
