My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Antica Torre di Via Tornabuoni 1 in March, 2026. I would highly recommend this hotel. The view of Florence and the Duomo from the roof is fantastic. Although our room was one floor down, we had a wonderful view of the Duomo. The atmosphere is great, in the late evening when there are no cars one can look out the window and think, "Is it 2026 - or 1475?" Such a great vibe. Our room and the bathroom were both spacious (my wife partly made our hotel decisions in Italy based on how much counter space the bathrooms have in photos on the web sites). The bathroom was very modern, the shower was great and had a lot of water pressure. Both the room and the bathroom were spotlessly clean. The hotel makes you feel very welcome in your room, providing a personalized envelope with a map, as well as a book with recommendations for restaurants, gelato shops, etc. There were no noise issues at all, while close to major attractions, Antica Torre does not have hordes of loud people walking by or dining nearby. The breakfast room was very nice, typical Italian breakfast with a view of the Arno. Sometimes I felt that we had stepped into the movie "A Room With a View." The staff was quietly efficient, bringing you the type of coffee you requested. If you need a taxi the desk staff will call one and it will be in front of the hotel in about four minutes. They make everything very easy! The location is perfect, very close to Ponte Santa Trinita, one bridge down from the Ponte Vecchio. Obviously, you can walk to the Ponte Vecchio, the Uffizi, the Duomo, etc. However, the location is also near the Oltrarno. Piazza Santo Spirito is a five-minute walk away, as is wonderful gelato at Gelateria La Carraia. Again, I would highly recommend a stay at the Antica Torre di Via Tornabuoni 1 if you are visiting Florence.

Our apartment on the 3rd floor was perfect for our family of 5. We loved the space and having a fridge, while still having a concierge and the best location. The windows opened to views of the river. The roof top terrace will blow you away- and you can just hang out there! It wasn’t crowded or only for the restaurant. Our family will be reminiscing about this stay for years to come. We hope to return to Florence and will absolutely return to stay here.

We stayed for the best part of a week in one of the grand deluxe tower rooms, with a balcony overlooking the Arno. Our room was lovely, size and facilities of a junior suite, large bathroom with bidet, intuitive light switches, multi-socket USBA by the bed, shoe horn etc. Breakfast was good, fresh, quiet with very low key music. Reception staff very helpful, housekeeping excellent. I’d highly recommend the hotel and would happily stay again. The only minor point was that there was no ‘soft close’ mechanism on the very solid bedroom door. This meant that every time a guest went in and out of their room there was a loud noise which everyone on that floor would hear. I did mention this to the staff on check-out. It would absolutely not stop me from booking this again and I’d highly recommend the hotel to others.

Great location, terrace views to die for. Rooms not big but that's what you get for the history. Disappointing breakfast with lack of choice, poor service and need to pay for coffee!
