The breakfast was unusually extensive for Italy, with scrambled eggs, fruit, cake, bread, croissants and cereal plus cheese and meat. All of the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We booked an upgraded room which had amazing views. Booking.com days that they all have balconies but that's not true so check if it's important to you. It's an easy stroll into the old town and a large supermarket (in the other direction). Rooms were clean and comfortable. The only let down was very small shower cubicles.

“Average”

Just average- small, dated rooms. May be 4 stars in Prato but 2-3 everywhere else. Just look at the carpet in the hallway - hasn’t been cleaned in more than 5 years. Breakfast is very good, though. Wide selection of fresh crossaints. Does the job but nothing more.

A relatively old hotel that has most of the amenities that one might expect. The room is relatively clean. The door requires old-school key to enter (which is attached to a golf ball) so you might want to leave it behind at the hotel reception each time you head out if you do not have the pocket for it. Breakfast is the typical continental European stuff, so nothing exciting to write home about. You could always skip breakfast at the hotel and head to the old part of Prato for breakfast at a cafe instead. It is about 10-15 minutes walk. Having said that, the hotel breakfast is decent, so make your decision according to your personal requirement/preference. The main gripe I had was that the powerpoint in my room (not sure about other rooms) was of the smaller holes instead of the larger standard European holes. Those who have been around Italy would know what I'm talking about. Basically there is the old Italian powerpoint which look almost exactly the same as the current standard European powerpoint with the two round holes, except they are smaller than the current standard size. So keep this in mind.

“Not worth 4-stars and neither the price”

This can't really be a 4-star hotel. 3 stars maximum.. Facilities aged and not well maintained. Garage was out of service which was quite inconvenient.. This can't really be a 4-star hotel. 3 stars maximum.. Facilities aged and not well maintained. Garage was out of service which was quite inconvenient.. I appreciated that dogs are welcome without any extra charge, however still for a hundred euros a night I would expect higher standard. The room was smelling very very bad. Like gas or a corpse. Bathroom was old and not well kept and breakfast also not good enough for a 4 star hotel.
