“Characterful hotel (& restaurant) in Castiglione del Lago, Lago Trasimeno”
This hotel is superbly located in the medieval town, with fantastic views from the rooms (& terrace restaurant) over Lago Trasimeno. If you want to experience Italy's fourth largest lake without all the expense, bustle & hype of the three northern neighbours, this is the place to be.

“Rooms in the fortress above the lake”
The hotel is somehow "special". It is situated in a romantic old town centre above Lake Trasimeno. As you can not enter the old town (fortress) with the car and as the hotel is not well marked it is quite difficult to find it. “Funny old set up”
This is connected to the Cantina restaurant and staying here secures you a 15% discount there. The hotel is half of a floor at the very top of a building that contains offices (and residential?). “stunning views”
The rooms were spacious and clean and we loved our view over the lake. Parking was free and just a short walk through the old town to the hotel. I wish we'd had time to stay later on Wednesday morning to enjoy the town's farmer's market.
