What a find! Fantastic little hotel. Absolutely spotless, the staff never stopped cleaning, the lifeguard was scrubbing away every little stain on the ground when the pool closed, never seen the like! We had two adjacent rooms for the 3 of us with huge terraces with sunloungers facing the pool. Never heard the trains, even though we could see the station from our balcony. A perfect 30 minute train trip from Genoa airport, €4 each way! Rooms were excellent with the most comfortable beds, a mini bar and excellent aircon and wifi. Great housekeeping, such hard workers! I'd recommend booking the room with a terrace, so big, with comfy sunloungers and a view of the sea. (Ours was room 211). The staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for us. We hadn't realised it was a holiday weekend in Italy and hadn't booked restaurants. We were lucky to get a table Friday night in a lovely spot, but when we tried several places to book for the Saturday, everything was full. The wonderful Silvia at the hotel got us not only a table in a fabulous restaurant on a holiday weekend, but the best table, on the terrace, beautiful views, dining to the sound of the waves! It was so good we returned for lunch the next day. The hotel is 5 minutes from the beach and they have a deal with a beach club, but we hadn't booked and it was full, as were all of them. It didn't matter, we loved the pool with comfy sunloungers and parasols. Varazze is the perfect destination, all Italians who were so friendly and welcoming, amazing restaurants with stunning seafood, home made pasta and fantastic prices. There are lovely shops cafés and bars, all within a couple of minutes from the hotel. Thanks Hotel Coccodrillo staff for a wonderful holiday with my mother and sister. Highly recommended!!

We came extremely late to the hotel without no booking. Mr Antonio was so nice to us and kindly offer us a place we could overnight. We came extremely late to the hotel without no booking. Mr Antonio was so nice to us and kindly offer us a place we could overnight. We had a very short stop but long enough to realize this was a perfect stay. The place was very clean, the breakfast delicious especially the coffee, the swimming pool very cozy and the personal so nice. We highly recommend this place. Thanks Antonio and Sylvia.

“Hotel Coccodrillo & Varazze......ThankYou”

Back in April I booked flights for my Wife & I to Genoa.....basically because of the price. Then came the problem of where to base ourselves. After hours of perusing different websites I plumped for Varazze & the Hotel Coccodrillo. Because there were few recent reviews it was a gamble but how wrong… more

Back in April I booked flights for my Wife & I to Genoa.....basically because of the price. Then came the problem of where to base ourselves. After hours of perusing different websites I plumped for Varazze & the Hotel Coccodrillo. Because there were few recent reviews it was a gamble but how wrong was I in that assumption. This Hotel was first class, friendly, clean, welcoming, a plentiful breakfast & a great pool. It is older & smallish but it had a great feel to it, we loved it. Varazze was fabulous. Enough to keep you occupied with plenty of bars & restaurants available. The Marina is another attractive feature of the town, easily linked to the main resort. The great thing with our holiday is that we did'nt encounter anyone else from the UK in the 10 days we were there, funnily enough, just what the doctor ordered. For days out, Genoa is 45 minutes away with Savona, a hidden gem, just 11 minutes away, both easily accessible by train. We walked to Cogoleto along the reclaimed coastal path, a beautiful walk with lovely little coves to enjoy on the way. Mostly we strolled & enjoyed the town itself, a drink, some food, Italian Ice Creams, really what more could we have wanted. Special mention to Blakes Bar on the way back to the hotel. Not the most welcoming from the outside, inside it looks rather gloomy but this is where we had our late night Gin & Lemons. Again looks are deceiving, but again we were made very welcome by the bar staff & locals alike, always a great way to end the night. Would we visit again? Without a shadow of doubt, a fabulous holiday. Thank You Varazze & thank you Hotel Coccodrillo, you gave us a lovely break. Oh, one special mention to Davide & the staff in the Restaurant, you were superb, friendly & attentive. Thank You all.

“Average for the price”

Booked this hotel quickly and with limited research, as needed an overnight stay in the area. Despite the website saying the rooms have air conditioning, please be aware that this function is only available for a limited period only as the main hotel system is totally shut down at intervals. Booked this hotel quickly and with limited research, as needed an overnight stay in the area. Despite the website saying the rooms have air conditioning, please be aware that this function is only available for a limited period only as the main hotel system is totally shut down at intervals. I appreciate energy consumption is probably an issue, but it needs to be made clear on the website if something is not available to me during my stay.. This meant that when we arrived it was very hot in the room, which after a long drive was a bit disappointing. It also shut down again at 11pm till 6am, so had a very hot and bothered night Not ideal, as we had a very long drive the next day. Probably not so much of an issue in cooler weather, but not when it is hot! Think with a bit more research, there must be better places to stay and visit than here for the price. The walk to the beach is a bit rough and ready and when you do get to the Med, the free bit of sand that is available is very teeny tiny! Breakfast, the pool and staff were all fine. But it must be said, they had limited interest in the air conditional issue, despite me reporting it 4 separate times (including going down to reception at 12 midnight and again at 2am when I was not able to sleep because it was so hot!!!)
