Great location, easy walk to the old town centre, Piazza Bra and the Arena. Air-conditioned and good wifi in the room. No reception on site however so make sure you make contact prior to check-in if you are arriving late. We did not have a great check-in experience, manager was impatient and lucky we had a lovely taxi driver who helped us make the phone call to get the passcode for the building and instructions to get into the room.

I booked this accommodation after reading positive reviews about the place and mainly for the location which is in a very convenient central position. I was doing the Verona half marathon which started literally a few minutes walk from where the B&B is situated so the position was ideal. Also, the initial price comparison was competitive (or so I thought). In this regards it is good to note that even though in the reservation details it was listed that there would be the city tax and service charge these were not included in the initial price so when someone initially compares where to stay based on the prices, the price given is without the tax and service charge so the initial comparison isn't exact. When I made the booking I had advised that given that my flight was on late afternoon (on a Friday) I was going to arrive between 7-9pm. While I was on my way I receive a message from the B&B to see when I would arrive and I informed them that I was going to arrive between 7:30-8:30pm. I couldn’t be precise because there had been an accident on the motorway and there was a lot of traffic. I arrive at 8:05pm only to find noone to open me. I had to call the B&B and they told me that since I arrived after 8pm there wasn’t going to be anyone to open! After I debated with the person I was speaking to (he didn’t even say who he was) that I had advised them about the time that I was going to arrive he said that it was their policy not to wait after 8pm. Anyway he gave me a code which I could use to go in and was later sent a message that the next day (Saturday) I had to wait till 9:30am so that I could affect the check-in. I waited till 10:45am the next day but noone arrived. Then I find a note on Sunday evening that I had to check out on Monday morning and the time that was written was after I had to leave! During my stay I never met anyone at the B&B except other guests! Apart from this the B&B is very clean and in order. Bathroom was shared but I always found it clean. Since I stayed only for 4 days and was going to race the half marathon on Sunday I didn’t travel much, however I did catch the bus a few times and one must note that the train and bus station are closeby and quite efficient.

I booked at this accommodation after reading many positive comments about the personnel, the position and the overall experience. I loved the fact that it was right in the center. A few minutes walk from the city center and a 10 minutes smooth walk to the train/bus station. It is all connected well. The b&b is very clean and in order. Bathroom was shared but I always found it super. I’m afraid though that I have to counter the fact that I didn’t have a great experience with the personnel in the way that I NEVER MET THEM during my stay (2 nights) at the b&b. To start off, the man was very nasty to me on the phone when I tried calling several times and kept closing the phone on me, when I finally had the possibility to speak to him, he never let me express my issue and problem and I got literally offended over the phone because he kept saying ugly things (I guess he was angry for other guests behavior and took it out on me). After “trying to calm him down” (I’m talking about the manager of a b&b that decided to work in this field, so above everything he decided to work with other people and that requires PATIENCE, GENTLENESS and SELF-CONTROL. But I have never in my life had to put up with such behavior, especially with someone that considers himself to be “right” when he speaks abruptly to a woman, offending and closing the phone on me 5 times, without even listening to my question. I was calling because during the booking, in the MORE INFORMATION box, it said to write to the structure to confirm the time of arrival AND that every LATE arrival was to be charged. I was more than willing to do so and pay whatever I had to. I just needed TO CONFIRM my time of arrival (9pm - flight landed at 8:10pm - time to get to the b&b and check in). It also said that if I had any requests, to WRITE in the “special requests” box and notify my late arrival...then to wait for the confirmation from the structure. That’s what I did after reading the information given. They took the money off the card but never gave me a confirmation about my request. AFTER the booking went through, but had no confirmation through the b&b whatsoever, I then had a number I could contact. So I called to confirm or to ask for confirmation and all I received was an impolite answer from the person that is supposed to be the manger of this b&b. He then told me that the only solution (thank God! Finally he came to his senses) was to ask someone to stay a little longer at the b&b until my arrival. I got there, no one was in. No welcome at all. I entered with a special code he gave ON THE PHONE. I mean, I could have been anybody! But thanks for the trust. On the website it’s written that every room has its own toiletries, but all I had was a VERY small towel and 1 candy on my pillow. Seen as I had other stops, I brought my own stuff and hopefully I did so. When I left the b&b, there was no one (again) BUT I saw that the bedroom next to mine had a new bedsheet and all the toiletries served on the bed. I left because I had a train to catch, and they called me back to tell me that I needed to settle the payment of the “services” they offered and that I had accepted to pay when I booked on booking.com Perfect. Ok. I didn’t have any problems with that. BUT I don’t know what I had to pay for seen as the hospitality was absent, the manager literally shouted at me several times over the phone (no sense at all) and I had only 1 little towel, nothing more. I left the room, put a bag of taralli from Apulia and left a note: “thank you! A little something from where I come” I always leave something wherever I go. I like to show my gratitude. I received a phone call from a lady (don’t know who she was) but she was nice and kind to me telling me that I had a payment to settle. I then moved on to settle it (until today they have never withdrawn it though). Now. I understand that people are pretentious and many people are really a pain, but I never once wanted to put the manager in that position. I was willing to change accommodation to if they were not able to host me after the time indicate on the website, losing the money already given. Just so he could live in peace and I could go somewhere else where maybe I could be treated better. But he didn’t accept that. I hate leaving bad comments and in every stay I did, I always had positive experiences with everyone. I received messages after my stay, from the same manager, where he was offending again for no reason at all. I had to block the number. I just think that if someone can’t bare issues and problems, that person cannot work with other people. If you chose to work in this field, put on a smile and be patient at all times. Treat people the way you would like to be treated. I can’t be bothered to be treated by someone (men especially) that believes that shouting on the phone, screaming and closing it on you thinks it’s normal! I was looking forward to meeting this person during my stay in Verona but he never showed up. This comes to show you how much he is interested in just making money but not interested in the guests.
