My son and I had reservation to go to the Toyota Kaikan museum and factory tour. This hotel seemed closest to it (about 4 miles), so we booked it. Well, it's not easy to get to. We had to walk about 1 mile to get to it from one of the train stations. Come to find out they have a shuttle from the Toyota station, but it's not advertised on their website or on my reservation how to get it. However, once we got there, it was very nice. Clean rooms, very friendly and helpful staff, good food. Not much to eat around them, so use their restaurant. BTW, a taxi to the Kaikan is 2070 yen one way from here. There may be other options if Toyota kaikan is your goal. TV is only in Japanese.

This is a business class hotel. The location is near the Toyota plant and Museum. Most of the guest drive here. The car park is quite big. The hotel looks new. Room is bright, modern and clean. The room size is not big but the good layout ensure that you don’t feel that the room is small. The restaurant at the ground floor provide great value Japanese. The hotel rate is good, comes with breakfast.

“Good hotel”

Relatively spacious room with lots of free hotel parking. Free freshly brewed coffee definitely a plus. Conveniently located to decent local restaurants from bbq to bentos to ramens.. not to mention circle k convenience store just beside.

January 2016 was my second stay at Hotel Route Inn Toyota Asahigaoka. The hotel is only about a year old, so everything is in good shape. The onsite onsen is nice and provides convenient relaxation. The onsite breakfast is traditional Japanese with many choices. Also, the breakfast variety does change slightly each day. The location is inconvenient to the Toyota City train station, but the shuttle service that runs in the mornings and afternoons/evenings is helpful. You need to be cognizant of the schedule as the shuttles run only each half hour. From the hotel I did not have an issue finding places to eat. There are many restaurants within walking distance, and there is a grocery store across the street. Finally, the rooms are very small per American standards. If you have two suitcases, they will take every bit of space in your room, and you will constantly be stepping around them. Overall, the Hotel Route Inn Toyota Asahigaoka is a good budget hotel. If I stayed there again I wouldn't be thrilled, but I also wouldn't be disappointed.
