To access check-in you have to take a lift from street level to the first floor. The hotel has the typical compact rooms, resulting in one side of the double bed being against the wall – which is not really practical. The beds also come with typically thin Japanese pillows. However, in the reception area there is an amenity wall, which has some western style pillows, which can be claimed on a “first come first served” basis. One idea I did like is the bathroom comes without all the usual sewing kits, toothbrushes, shaving kits etc. etc. etc. but the amenity area in reception has all the bits and pieces you may have forgotten and you can help yourself as required. Breakfast is included but it is geared towards Japanese style breakfasting, which may not be to western tastes.

We were in Toyota for the rugby, and were delighted to find that the hotel was just a few minutes walk from the terminus of the airport bus - and just over the bridge from the stadium. Could not have been a better position! We were too early to book in, but the very friendly, helpful staff at reception took our cases from us, and when we returned just an hour later our luggage was in our rooms. The rooms are not big, but they are very clean and comfortable and provided with kettle, instant coffee, pod coffee, pen, soap, conditioner, shampoo and towels. A full and free range of other things you may need are available on a self-service basis in reception, including various pillows. Our double bed was comfortable and we had a great nights sleep, even though overlooking the main road full of rugby fans. Air conditioning was good. Breakfast was Japanese or continental self-service; it was fresh and tasty, although at 8.30 there was not a great deal left, even though breakfast was available until 9.00am. The area is well blessed with restaurants, and the hotel is only 5-6 minutes from the train station as well as the airport-bus terminus. Reliable WiFi was available in reception. Would definitely stay here again if return to Toyota.

“Not bad, but tall people beware”

Stayed here for a week in jun and overall it was a good stay. Staff is extremely friendly and they aim please and make your stay comfortable. Standard room is small but expected. The hotel breakfast was adequate for the avg American but I always enjoyed it. My only complaint is related to the age. Because it is one of the older hotels it wasn’t catered to foreigners so much, especially tall ones. For example the std door jam in US is 6’8”. When I went into my room the first night I slammed my head into the jam. Come to find it is roughly 6’4” jam in the hotel. Didn’t have this issue at 3 other hotels in the same area. Anyway, this is a very cost effective option in Toyota city and I would recommend.

Another plus was that it was an 8 minute walk to Toyotashi Station which only felt like a 5 minute walk. Near lots of restaurant and a Lawson. Minimal English speaking workers which we had no issues with as they spoke enough to get by. Free toiletries near the front desk. I love that you only take what you need and its not like most hotels where they leave them in the bathroom and you don’t use all the free toiletries and they later trash it. We were at this hotel during Typhoon Hagibis so they were very informative on what was happening. Room carpet could use some deep cleaning. Lots of counter space. Free breakfast, Self/Coin Laundry on 5th floor with drink vending machine. Normal size room, overall great stay, room is average and could use some renovations.
