Good sized rooms for Japan! Great amenities! Close to both regional train stations (within 2 blocks!). Very good pricing and the breakfast option (about $16 CAD) was worth the money. Good selection of "North American" foods available for breakfast. Recommend you request a "Japanese Room" if possible - the "American Rooms" are a bit larger with bigger TV but you lose the bidet toilet with heated seat!

Have been coming to this hotel for years and was very excited to stay here due to the usual excellent hospitality of staff and location. Checked out 24/02 and was refused a bottle of water after asking from reception staff who refused stating they are only given at checkin or I should pay. Can the hotel really not afford to give a bottle of "free" water? Not a pleasant experience.

Admittedly I've been through Narita quite a bit that I've now been trying to make an effort to try a different hotel at least once every time I stop by here. The latest one ended up being this property and for the most part I can't say I'd stay here again. The hotel is divided into the main building and an annex, of which my room was in the annex itself. After checking in, getting there requires taking an elevator to a certain floor in the main building, crossing an indoor bridge to the annex, then taking another set of elevators to reach your floor. Outside of check-in/out, you can just take the annex elevators to get to/from the ground level. The room itself definitely looks like it has seen better days with the some wear and tear you'd expect after a few decades of use, especially when it was still flagged as a Mercure Hotel. Nonetheless it was still clean and functional for a single night's stay. However be warned that the annex rooms aren't the most up to date and don't have features one would expect to have in typical Japanese business hotels (even those with the same price point as the Welco!) like a washlet in the bathroom. My room also faced the Keisei train tracks and the proximity to the Keisei Narita Station meant hearing extra noise associated with it til around Midnight and probably will be difficult if you're a light sleeper. Climate control was also a issue as due to it being November the preset settings are on heat and of which will still be stuffy even if it is off. This meant that I ended up having to open the window once in a while to bring down the temperatures but also at the cost of having to hear more noise from the train tracks/station. With that said, there are some positives. Staff were the sort of pleasant that you'd expect when traveling in Japan which was appreciated after a long haul flight! The location itself is sandwiched between Keisei Narita and JR Narita Stations, if I recall the closest one between the two with easier access to things like Narita Omotesando to Naritasan Temple and the bus stop to the AEON Mall. Almost all the other hotels close to these stations are down a hill and while they do have escalators/elevators, it nonetheless may seem more overwhelming if your hotel doesn't have an airport shuttle are bringing checked luggage. With the Hotel Welco you don't have to challenge those stairs/escalators/elevators as it's on top of that same hill the train stations are at. The twin double room that I booked was around the same price point, if not cheaper than a single at surrounding hotels like the Comfort Hotel, Meet Inn, APA, etc. which meant extra space for the same/cheaper price. I see Welco around the same price as some of the other nearby hotels so if those positives are enough to outweigh things like outdated rooms, possibly having a bigger room, or the potential lack of certain amenities, then the Welco may suffice. Otherwise, do please research what other nearby hotels may offer! Some may offer a hotel shuttle to/from Narita Airport or offer free breakfast for around the same price range as Welco. Otherwise, assuming I could get one of the more updated rooms that faces away from the Keisei tracks and featured things like washlets and was cheaper than the nearby hotels, I may stay again. Otherwise, this place will be a hard pass for the near future.
