“Great castle view, convenient location, good space”

I stayed for 3 nights in a superior twin room. It had pretty good space, nice wooden fittings and a great view - a corner of the castle moat and some of the castle buildings up on the mountain beyond. I'd exchanged messages with hotel staff before my stay, requesting a nice castle view, and it didn't disappoint, day or night! The light in the room was excellent, which isn't the case in every hotel but helps a lot when one's eyes are getting older. I liked the desk area, there were drawers (some hotels in Japan don't have drawers) and a reasonable amount of hanging space. A small fridge, tv, a small table and chair as well as the desk, no safe. Each bed only had one pillow but they were different types so being a solo traveller I had a choice. Long and deep bath. No problems with the wi-fi. Everything I tried at the breakfast buffet tasted good. A staff member helped me upstairs with my forwarded luggage, something that doesn't happen in every hotel, thank you! The hotel is (of course) close to the castle, the station is a 10 minute walk and it's about the same to reach the downtown (different direction). There were a few maintenance issues - condensation leading to water in the bottom of the window frame in the mornings, fridge also had some signs of congealed water, a couple of old stains in the toilet, carpet had seen better days, but nothing major, I enjoyed my stay.

We spent 2 nights here. It is a dated hotel, but the upside of that is a slightly larger room than you find elsewhere. The room itself was clean and comfortable, and had a lovely view out over the castle. The location was an easy walk to the train station, and conveniently located for the tram to other parts of the city. A simple, comfortable stay.

“Welcome to the 80s …maybe even 70s”

First of all the hotel is really really dated which needs a refurbishment as it is like going back to the 80s…. Check in was real fast and the staff spoke adequate English but the moment I stepped into the room, stained wall greeted me which was a turn off and all the furniture is really dated which is common for business hotels in Japan but having stayed in other Mystay chain, I was really disappointed of the room. Otherwise the room is clean and comfortable. The restaurant at the hotel serve decent Italian food for dinner but for breakfast which was also served in the same restaurant served the same fare for the 3 nights I was there. The washing and drying machines are also located in a small “alley” away from the elevator which can be difficult to locate.
