Comfort hotel will be the best choice if you are a budget traveler. During the weekdays, you can use a room at really reasonable price and their room charge include breakfast. “It is close to the Kokura station.”
It is about 5 minutes walk from the exit from Shinkansen side of the Kokura Station (You will see this hotel from the station). The hotel is very clean and looks still new. “Budget Hotel in Kokura”
This is a simple hotel for business visits. Like all Japanese hotels, this is a clean and neat hotel, very close to the Kokura Railway Station. The rooms are slightly larger and bright. One thing that impressed me was the spread for the buffet breakfast.

“Good value, good service, close to train station”
I have stayed at many business class hotels near train stations in Japan. Although this Comfort Hotel is not the newest, it offers good value and service while being within about a 5 minute walk from the main train station in Kokura, Kyushu.
