The hotel is not to far from Kitakyushu station, even you could walk, little bit old hotel building, as usually in Japan hotel staff did not speak English well,Cleanliness and room is standard business Japanese hotel, bicycle rental is provide by the hotel, for breakfast you buy a coupon in front desk, their have Japanese breakfast and Continental breakfast, Japanese breakfast was fine and good, on second day my fried egg in Continental breakfast was burn and black so can not eat.

This is really an old hotel catered to business men on short trips, not really good as a tourist hotel compared to other more modern ones. But it is still worth it if you can get a good deal from online booking, best if can get a deal that includes breakfast, for their Japanese breakfast is not bad… more

This is really an old hotel catered to business men on short trips, not really good as a tourist hotel compared to other more modern ones. But it is still worth it if you can get a good deal from online booking, best if can get a deal that includes breakfast, for their Japanese breakfast is not bad and in good portion that can last you through lunch hours if you are on a tight budget. In short, if funding if not a problem for you, look elsewhere, otherwise, this is not a bad place to stay. Pros: ==== - Low cost (I got a good deal that includes breakfasts.) - Staff are very polite and helpful (but I think most Japanese workers are equally good) even though they speak little English, they try their best to understand and help. I wrote Chinese and English and drew objects on paper and they can understand what I was trying to say. - Strong wifi signal even inside the room-this is a strong point as even in Tokyo the hotel I stayed only has wifi on the ground floor lobby. - Not far from the Kokura train station. - Near to the walking market area of Tanga and the Cha Cha Town small chopping center. - Convenient store is just nearby. The ramen shop to the right about 50 meters from the hotel is good (the one in the lane not facing the main road.) - Bicycles are provided and are free to use (limited number), and Kokura is best to explore on bikes. - Breakfast is good esp. the Japanese style. If you don't like the raw egg, you can request them to cook it. Can choose also continental breakfast or Japanese curry, but I like the Japanese style the most. - I am a light sleeper but I slept very well in the four nights I stayed. Cons: ===== - Small room (for single bed), after putting the luggages you almost can't walk in it. - Bathroom is small, but fully functional and clean (as usual-this is Japan.) - The hotel is getting old and you can tell. There are probably better and newer hotels in town. - My room is a smoking room on 1st floor so it stinks (no choice as too late to book.) - Almost no lobby.

Thank God, I got an online deal & didn't pay what is supposedly their full rate. The daytime staff were helpful enough but I suspect that I knew more about the city bus system than they did. I didn't have enough contact with the evening guys to comment. The room was tiny; there was a built in radio & alarm but I couldn't get either of them to work. No breakfast included and no onsen. Call me slow but it was by no means obvious that the AC control double as heat control during the winter. The location was decent, especially if you were interested in the nightlife nearby which largely seemed to consist of touts trying to get guys to blow cash on the girls inside but maybe that is who they cater to.
