I stayed solo for one night in October. This review is relatively objective as I stayed in 9 hotels during my tour. By Japanese standards a reasonable sized, clean and comfortable room. Decent bed linen and towels. Excellent shower pressure. Conveniently located for the Peace Park, with plenty of eating options locally. Decent WiFi. Very pleasant and helpful staff throughout. Breakfast was the normal Oriental/European buffet to a decent standard. A good top over option.

“Stay in Hiroshima”

Staff were helpful in storing our loved gage as we were early to checking. Went out for late lunch nah in the mall across the road. When we arrived back, completed checkin and bags had already been taken to our room. There is hot and cold drinks available in the lobby.

Location - great, about 10 minutes walk from Memorial Musuem, Dome and River. Close to bars and restaurants. Location - great, about 10 minutes walk from Memorial Musuem, Dome and River. Close to bars and restaurants. Getting there - we took the 101 bus from Hiroshima Station, bus stop just across the road from the hotel. About 10 minutes. Our room - as you may have read, the rooms are small and a bit dated however, it was clean and we found it just fine. Amenities (toothbrush etc) were available in the lobby. Hotel - we thought it was great, the staff were friendly and helpful. There are washers, dyers and vending machines. Male and female onzen is included, lovely after a long day exploring. They also do complimentary noodles from 21.30, again a great little treat!! There is a complimentary shuttle bus to the station that runs in the morning, you need to book early!! It is a business person's hotel rather than a tourist spot. Didn't bother us! Breakfast - here's why I scored it 4/5. We found breakfast ok. Quite basic and we went towards the end of the service (06.00 - 09.00) so it was running low, a little bit cold and not being replenished. Some western but mainly Japanse offerings. USB - no ports but plenty of plugs. Overall a good experience and we would stay again.

Pros: central location, close to Peace Memorial Park / Museum, covered shopping area, busses, trains, etc. Hotel itself has lots of free amenities: onsen (hot baths), ice cream bars, nightly ramen, washing machines, lemonade/coffee in lobby, shuttle to Hiroshima Station. Staff were very friendly. Our room looked out over Peace Boulevard and was very quiet. Cons: rooms are a bit dated and small by Western standards. Overall, if you're looking for a luxurious room, then this is not for you. But if you're looking for a comfortable hotel in a central location with a welcoming atmosphere, then I highly recommend Dormy Inn. The amenities were an unexpected delighter (especially the ice cream!) and they really contributed to the welcoming atmosphere.

I booked this hotel for the proximity to the Peace Park, and because I had stayed at a Dormy Inn in Nara, which was wonderful. I mistakenly thought that because it was part of a chain that they’d be the same, how wrong I was! The rooms were tiny and very outdated. It is basically a business hotel, most of the other guests were solo business men. We arrived towards the end of the breakfast service and all the cooked foods were cold. To be fair, there was a good variety but if you stay here, get to breakfast early! The washing machines, free ice creams and onsen were good but for me it didn’t outweigh the negatives. We’d paid in advance for 3 nights but cut our losses and left for another hotel after just one night.
