Hokkaido Winter Holiday – Family Review (3 Kids: 5, 9, 11) 🏔️ Shin Furano Prince Hotel Travel dates: Feb 9–18(2 nights in Furano and rest in Sapporo Marriot Courtyard) Airport: New Chitose Airport (CTS) Transfer: Private charter directly to hotel (very convenient with 3 kids + ski gear) Stay: 2 rooms (twin beds) × 2 nights Booking price: TWD 48,165 (booking early helped secure better rate) 🎿 Ski Arrangement – Very Smooth Setup Ski class check-in is on GF, and everything is internally connected (huge plus in winter). 👧 Age 5 Group ski class with Panda program Good introduction pace for younger kids 👦👦 Age 9 & 11 2-day program with Furano Snow School Structured, professional, easy logistics ✔ Lift access (free for children under 12, ask during checkin) ✔ Lockers ( cant use it after checkout, better if can use till 3pm on day of check out) ✔ Rental (easy to see, by Ski and SB pickup only has 2 assistance, might take a while so go earlier) ✔ School meeting points All walkable and efficient. 🍶 Dining Experience Restaurant options are limited but quality is good. Dinner at 12F restaurant Dinner at LB Japanese Restaurant Sake tasting pairing is worth trying Online booking suggested a ¥10,000 deposit, but when reserving via front desk, no deposit was required (much easier). 🌲 Ningle Terrace Directly across from the hotel. Beautiful at night with snow and lights — easy short walk with kids. Walking to famous coffee shop by the end of Terrance is relaxing. 👍 What We Liked Fewer crowds compared to The Westin Rusutsu Resort Everything compact and easy Ski-focused, efficient layout Less chaotic lift lines Good for families who prioritize skiing over entertainment ⚠️ Things to Consider Smaller resort than Rusutsu Fewer restaurant choices Limited indoor waiting areas for non-skiers No food allowed in lobby Bakery only has ~10 seats Fewer extra activities (no dog sled, snowmobile, etc.) Overall If your goal is: ✔ Avoid ski crowds ✔ Simple logistics with kids ✔ Focus on skiing → Furano is a very good choice. If you want: ✔ More activities beyond skiing ✔ Larger dining variety ✔ Resort-style entertainment → Rusutsu might be stronger.

We had a great stay at this ski-in, ski-out resort and would definitely recommend it, especially for skiers who value convenience. The service was excellent throughout our stay. One of the highlights was the hot spring hotel located right next to the resort, which is free for hotel guests. We used it every day after skiing, and it was incredibly relaxing. The outdoor hot spring was especially amazing — soaking in hot water while it was snowing made us feel completely refreshed and calm. The hot spring also has an excellent massage service. We were very lucky to get a spot, but I highly recommend booking massages in advance as they fill up quickly. The food in the resort was good, though we did get frustrated on the first day when trying to make dinner reservations because everything was fully booked, yet we noticed many no-shows. By the second day, we learned to just walk in, which worked much better. Restaurant prices are noticeably higher than outside local restaurants, but after a full day of skiing, the convenience made it worth it for us. We ate at the hotel restaurant every day for breakfast and dinner. After five days, we did start to feel a bit bored with the food, but luckily it was time for us to leave. The room itself was okay — a bit old, but clean, which is the most important thing. We didn’t spend much time in the room anyway since we were out skiing all day and mostly used the hot spring hotel for showering and relaxing. Overall, this is a great choice for an easy ski-in, ski-out experience. If you have a car, it’s more convenient since you can drive to town. Despite a few small frustrations, we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.
