“Best Ryokan ever!”
This was above and beyond our expectations. Our private bath looking through the bamboo to the river was lovely. The meals were over-the-top incredible. Looks like several inns in Yamanaka did not survive COVID. Grateful that this unique inn did.

“Great onsen, delicious fresh snow crabs!”
I stay at Kuriya Yasohachi once a year in February for snow crabs and the onsen. This is a smaller ryokan which is definitely not for big bus tour groups and their service is very personal.
