“Great traditional ryokan”
Karasawa is really a great place with a wonderful traditional charm. The rooms are wide and comfortable, and the indoor onsen nice to dip in after a day of walking (or bicycling on the house's bicycles. The host is most hospitable and very friendly. Absolutely recommendable!

“Brilliant family-run suburban Western-fusion Ryokan.”
The hotel has both types of rooms but we chose one of the Japanese style (with futons) as they look out onto the lovely Japanese garden at the back - an entrancing morning greeting - so can't comment on the Western-style rooms.
