Business hotel that have complete set of toiletries, average comfy bed, very small room but seems cozy for me. The reception that remember my travel plan overnight to book taxi for me in advance in the morning, and can leave the baggage during my day trip to Tashirojima cat island, and especially the fresh breakfast that kind cooking aunt prepare in fresh bento right for each person. The breakfast is "exceed" my expectation for business low cost hotel, to enjoy "fresh", "warm" Japanese food with traditional complete simple set! The only downside here also the same as others. Distant that super far from train station (around 1 km), to think about carrying your luggage in the "dark" silent rural area (sunset around 5pm during winter) was not so good (but I do, why I have to pay taxi fee, lol) but with the location on busy main rod with many department store and delicious dinner restaurant (especially the opposite corner tonkatsu restaurant, near the hotel), I thought it was trade off for me.

I stayed here as a base for my visit to Cat Island. It was a nice hotel. It isn't a 5* but it was great for the money. It was rather newly built when I stayed there (about a year old). The rooms are tidy, with nice furniture and a comfier bed than most places. The rooms have aircon so heat wasn't a problem. The staff are friendly. Although if you cannot speak Japanese you may have some communication problems at check-in. The area itself doesn't cater to tourists very much, as the only real tourism for the area is the manga museum and the odd person who has heard of cat island. There is no lift, so being disabled and having to go up the stairs was a bit annoying. But luckily there is only one floor, so it didn't matter too much. Breakfast was great. Its a traditional style Japanese breakfast and has a lot of food. You don't really get to pick what you have, except from the toast, nato, raw egg etc as they dish up a different meal every day. They're cooking it fresh as you enter and the cooks and lady serving were friendly. luckily for breakfast you only need to know some basic Japanese as the meals are automatically dished up and handed to you. The only real downside is that the hotel is rather far from the station. It isn't miles but its a fairly long walk, especially at night.
