Property is located just opposite the Chuo station and connected by underground passage. Also situated right above the bus terminal for airport limousine. Location is central as well, overall convenient connectivity. Booked a room with Sakurajima view and was spectacular, absolutely lovely during clear days. Room is small but typical by Japanese hotel size, had everything in place and is comfortable. Plus point for the bathroom which had separated shower and toilet despite the small size. Bathroom amenities were also available self service at the lobby. Convenience store is right below and abundance of dining options across and beside the hotel, no lack of options in the vicinity. Ice machine and microwave are also available at public levels. However, there is no facilities available in this property such as gym and onsen. Check out timing was also quite strict at 11am, luggage can be kept during day of check out though. Overall a good stay with very nice views (make sure to book one with Sakurajima). Will return and recommend.

Get the room with the volcanic view, it is worth it! That and the location were unbeatable! Once arrived at the station, you can go through AMU plaza to walk underground via B1 to then take the elevator up to the reception on the 7th. Our initial impression of the hotel was negative - we arrived at 2:38 p.m. just to be told by the staff that check-in is at 3 p.m. we understand the check-in time is strictly enforced throughout Japan, a hotel, however, can distinguish itself by offering check-in when it is within 30 mins of check-in time if you see that the customers were arriving with heavy backpacks and that the room is available. The room was on the smaller side (as expected), but it somehow offered a small seating area and a round table if you have to work on your laptop. It would have been nice if there were shelves to place items along the bed wall. Outlet plugs were located on the same area, so be sure to bring one with longer cords. I did appreciate having a water refill machine on each floor as I refrain from using plastic bottles. The amenities in the bathroom were limited compared to Osaka & Hiroshima (no face moisturizer or lotion). Housekeeping is offered on the 3rd day only, but new towels and tea bags were provided daily. The location was fantastic being located right across from the Kagoshima station, in addition, it is connected directly to two underground food courts and there was a Lawson in the same building. Oh and you get 10% for dining at the food courts.

The hotel is ideally located next to Kagoshima Chuo Station, with many shops, a department store and eateries nearby as well the buses and taxis. I stayed for three nights in a premium twin room A. The two windows had a wonderful view of the mighty Sakurajima as well as the sea, river, city buildings and sports fields. Staff were helpful and pleasant. Luggage forwarding was handled efficiently, including calling the next hotel which is useful for all concerned, but some hotels don't do it. I enjoyed the breakfasts. I loved the layout of my accommodation, and the amount of space was pretty good too although I did have to lay my wheeled suitcase down in the hall. Great lighting - the desk lamp was excellent but hardly needed. (The dimness in some hotel rooms gets harder to take as one gets older!) The beds were adjacent, comfortable and with good pillows. I also had a two-seater lounge, easy chair, two tables and a long desk. There was a good amount of shelving and hanging space, a decent-sized fridge, a safe, TV, humidifier, cabinet with glasses, beakers and cold water jug, coffee capsule machine (yay!) with complimentary capsules (also quality drip coffee and green tea), and electric jug. I liked both the artworks. The bath and shower, toilet and sink were in their own spaces. The bath had ridges and a railing to assist with getting in/out, a benefit even for those without bad knees! There was a huge mirror and heaps of space for toiletries and cosmetics. Housekeeping was only every second day unless one asked for it to be done every day. I'd be happy with every second day except it always seems to mean glasses and crockery aren't replaced which is problematical with no proper means to wash them oneself. It was disappointing that after the first night I was only given one bath towel and one hand towel (no face cloth/washer). I had to ask for a second bath towel so I could wash my hair. Two hand towels would also have been appreciated as they were only small and became damp quite quickly. Overall this was a good choice.

We actually took a taxi from the entrance of the train station and ended up just crossing the street. As usual the wonderful taxi drivers in Japan are too polite to suggest that you should walk instead (the cost was just the initial charge of USD 3.5). From the street-plan at the hotel we took a lift up, as the reception was on the 7th floor. From here we took another elevator up to our room on the 14th floor (top floor). We got a small, but efficient room, with spectacular views to the volcano. All the facilities in the room were top notch, even with a refreshment-spray for our clothes. Our timing in regards to travelling in Japan was a little unlucky, as we chose to travel around during the very busy New Years Eve-celebrations. It proved problematic getting tickets on the Shinkansen, but also proved a little difficult in regards to open restaurants and shops. We arrived in Kagoshima on 1st January and the whole town was closed down. We asked for dinner at the hotel restaurant, but even this was fully booked. We ended up buying a sandwich at the next door Lawson. The tourist office was open the day we arrived, and we got some excellent advice in regards to local travel. We bought a one-day pass that included all travels by tram, bus and even the ferry to the volcano island, including a sightseeing bus on the island. Highly recommended and probably one of few things to see in Kagoshima. Asking the hotel reception for advice the next day was a little pointless, as their only advice was to take a taxi. Breakfast was very expensive, so we ended up at Lawson once again. We had initially booked 2 nights at this hotel, but were fulfilled with Kagoshima after one late afternoon + one early afternoon. The room wasn’t cosy (or large) enough to enjoy one more evening, so we ended up going one day earlier than planned to Kobe. Unfortunately the hotel was unable to refund us for the 1st night. Would have given four stars if breakfast was available at a more reasonable price, and if it was possible to have dinner at the restaurant.
