Hakone Yutowa is a stylish and beautiful sanctuary. bridging the gap between traditional Japanese hospitality and modern design, offering a stay that feels both traditional and refreshingly modern. The hotel is a short walk from Gōra Station, it also provides easy access to the Hakone Ropeway, Open-Air Museum, and local cafes. The staff were friendly and very courteous, greeting us warmly as we walked in. Check-in was quick and flawless. We were early and they also kept our luggage in the back room till it was time to check-in. We got the highest floor (503) which offer a beautiful of the hills and surroundings. The Rooms are a “modern ryokan” concept with tatami flooring. With a large window offering gorgeous views of the Hakone hills—especially stunning when the mist starts rolling in. Giving you that ”Ghibli” sense of unreality. The bright spark in this stay features 2 nice private onsen for guests with a 30 minute limit, which you would have to queue for. The water is piped in from the natural springs, perfect for unwinding sore muscles after hiking. Additional amenities include a relaxing lounge with complimentary tea and coffee throughout the day, a small library, and a little creches for relaxing in. A light snack and drinks bar (with Alcohol) was open in the evenings for the guests to snack, drink and relax. Comic books and novels and board games were also available for readers and gamers alike. Hakone Yutowa is a great choice in Gōra. It doesn’t just offer a place to sleep, but also a traditional japanese experience. I would have chosen to stay longer but had other hotel bookings paid for. After going to another 5-star in Hakone for comparison, I would say that Yutowa is the better choice and would not regret going back Hakone Yutowa again the next time I go the Hakone.

“Accessible luxury in the mountains”

OK, this hotel had us at in-room hot spring bath. Not sure all rooms have this, but our very spacious, comfortable room in the condominium building did. All hotel guests have access to free drinks and snacks/desserts in the evening. The location in the quaint town of Gora connects by train to Odawara, on the main train route from Tokyo to Kyoto and Osaka. The hotel is just a short walk from the train station and the cable car to Sounzan. It's also an easy walk to the Hakone open air art museum, which is very much worth visiting. Anyway, definitely the nicest accommodation we had in our trip to Japan.

“one of the best memories”

this hotel is not ryokan but combines traditional japanese and modern together. besides delicious breakfast there is 24/7 snack. also the onsen is incredible.

We booked a room in the condominium section of the hotel and it was spacious and spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly and always helpful. It's a handy 5-6 minutes walk to Gora station & the Hakone ropeway which takes you to the Mt. Fuji area. The hotel is quite spread out and the layout can be confusing at first but we had three nights there and became accoustomed to the floor pan. There are public & private onsen's & also Yukata's in the rooms. The breakfast was included in our room price but we decided to pay extra for the evening meals. Both were buffet style with a choice of a main course which I felt wasn't necessary as the buffet selection was fine. All in all a great experience.
