Having just completed another wonderful trip to Japan, we decided to do something different this time and finish with a week in Yokohama instead of Tokyo. It turned out to be one of the best decisions we’ve made — and Citadines Yokohama was a huge part of that. We’ve visited Japan many times and usually spend our final week shopping and exploring Tokyo, but Yokohama offered something completely different. It has far more open space, feels calmer, is incredibly walkable, yet still has excellent transport links. From the station directly beneath the hotel, we could be in Shibuya in around 45 minutes on a direct train, making it easy to enjoy Tokyo without actually staying there (should you even need to venture in, as Yokohama has just as good shopping, without so many tourists!) We stayed in a Deluxe Room, which was surprisingly spacious by Japanese standards. The mini kitchen was useful, mainly for the fridge and convenience, but what really made the room special was the sofa area by the window overlooking the cruise terminal. After long days walking and exploring, having a comfortable space to sit, relax and unwind completely changed the feel of the stay from simply functional to genuinely enjoyable. The hotel itself is modern, spotless, quiet and very well maintained throughout. Everything felt fresh and thoughtfully designed. The lounge on the 7th floor was also a real bonus, particularly for early morning coffee. One thing many visitors quickly discover in Japan is how difficult it can be to find decent coffee before 8am — sometimes even 10am — so having this available early each morning was genuinely appreciated. The laundrette was excellent too, and by far the cheapest we came across during our entire trip: ¥400 for a wash including detergent, and ¥200 for 30 minutes of drying. Small detail perhaps, but incredibly useful on a longer stay. What really stood out though was the staff. Always available, always friendly and professional, but never intrusive. Exactly the balance you want. We genuinely cannot rate this hotel highly enough. Citadines Yokohama completely changed our view of where to stay when visiting the Tokyo area, and for returning travellers especially, Yokohama feels like a much better option than Tokyo itself. We will absolutely return — both to Yokohama and to this hotel.

The room was exceptionally spacious and impeccably clean. Both the shower and toilet were maintained to a very high standard of hygiene, which made the stay even more comfortable. I particularly enjoyed the lounge area, where complimentary coffee, tea, and water dispensers were available. It provided a relaxing space to unwind and even engage in pleasant conversations with other guests. The front desk team delivered outstanding customer service—consistently helpful, professional, and attentive throughout my stay. Overall, I was truly delighted to spend three days at this hotel. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

We had the chance to stay at the Citadines Harbour Front Yokohama for 4 days prior to leaving on a cruise . After a long international flight and our first experience on the Japan rails, we arrived with a lot of luggage in tow and exhausted. The hotel has an elevator on the same level as the exit (#5 Nihon odori) from the Minatomirai (MM blue )line. The elevator brings you to street level and the hotel entrance is a quick left turn. Check in was quick. Front line staff were very welcoming and attentive. We have booked an executive Double studio, which was exacting as advertised. The room was fresh and spotlessly clean. More than enough room for two with large suitcases. It had a well equipped kitchenette , and air purifier. They also have a resident lounge and laundry on the 7th that you can use. We purchased meals and warmed and ate them in the lounge after a day of exploring. We chose this location firstly based on the outstanding reviews, for great access to the Japan trains and restaurants and most importantly an easy walk to the Osanbashi Pier, which was our cruise terminal. If your travels bring you to Yokohama and specifically to the Naka Ward, the Citadines Harbour Front Yokohama is an excellent choice for short or long stay
