This hotel is in the middle of a golf course . Loved the greenery and space of the surroundings . However it may be hard to get to unless you have a car . The receptionist could speak English and we checked in relatively easily . The rooms were alright for size , beds firm , wifi ok . There were no yukata provided , only pyjamas . No water nor tea nor coffee nor kettle provided. Perhaps the management could look into providing some bottles of water. One had to purchase water from the vending machines which were overpriced. There was a shop next to the lobby but again the prices were overpriced compared to other onsen hotels. There was an indoor onsen but small and crowded with individual cubicles with doors . Weird design I must say . The outdoor onsens , one was under renovation so the hotel rotated the usage for men and women. The outdoor ones were better with a shampoo bar and two reddish pools and two tubs. Dinner was sushi and crabs and free flow alcohol. Most thoroughly enjoyable . Overall a good stay . Will definitely return if in the area.

Stayed one night at Aso Resort Grandvrio Hotel which is part of a gold resort in mountain terrain area. The dinner is very sumptous with generous snow crab legs and a large variety of buffet selection. They also have a nice onsen with 3 hot pools and 1 cold pool. The rooms over looks the golf course with nice open view of valley below.

Stayed at Aso Resort Grandvrio Hotel and it was a bit of a mixed experience. The hotel is quite remote — it’s a decent drive from the town center and most restaurants. There is a convenience store near the property entrance, but even that requires a bit of a drive from the main hotel building. The hotel itself sits right in the middle of a large golf course, so it’s very quiet and spread out. The property feels dated overall — you can tell it was probably a popular spot back in the day. That said, the indoor and outdoor onsens were definitely a highlight and helped make up for some of the downsides. Breakfast is served buffet-style in a large dining hall, with a good variety of options leaning toward local specialties. I was able to find several dishes I enjoyed. However, the experience felt a bit chaotic compared to the more organized buffets you’d find at Hilton or Hyatt properties in Japan. It seemed like a combination of limited staff and large tour groups, which made things feel a bit hectic at times. I stayed in a standard room, which was pretty basic — comparable to a Best Western. It gets the job done, but nothing particularly memorable. That said, the view from the room was a standout — it overlooked the golf course with mountains in the background, and there were sakura trees planted throughout the course, which made it especially picturesque. There weren’t as many staff members as you’d see at larger international chains, but the ones I interacted with were friendly and helpful. Overall, it’s a quieter, more old-school property with nice onsens and beautiful views.
