I have been sticking with Sunroute for a few years now. This in one of the better Sunroute in the Sunroute hotel chain. Good friendly staff, clean, and room is bigger then the usual busniess hotel. Good breakfast! The room got some nice Japanese design which is quite nice . . considering most value business hotel got pretty much plain and undistinct design.

“One of the best business hotels in Japan”

I booked this just to have a place to stay for a one night stay. I expected it would be like a normal business hotel (small, worn-out, brusque service), but I was very pleasantly surprised. The room was easily 50% bigger than a typical business hotel, with plenty of space to stand and open luggage. There's a genkan (entrance way) with place to put baggage and hang clothes. The toiletries were decent, not just bargain basement junk. The bathroom was small, but not the super small style you usually find in business hotels where the sink hangs over the tub. The wi-fi was very fast. The service was also top-notch for the price. I arrived a few hours early, and they couldn't do early check-in, though they let me leave my bags. When I returned to get the key, they had brought my luggage directly to my room! Yes, at a high quality destination hotel that's normal, but at a business hotel? Nice. The hotel is very conveniently located--right in the middle of the restaurant-bar-shopping district of Kumamoto, and about a ten minute walk from Kumamoto Castle. It's also only five minutes to the main bus terminal and the tram. Finally, I strongly recommend getting the hotel breakfast, especially if you like Japanese style breakfast. They had all of the normal sausage-egg-bread etc., but also a number of local specialities like karashi-renkon (mustard-flavored lotus root), spring onion rolls, and several salads. The coffee was decent (not burnt), there were several nice juices, and yogurt with lots of toppings. Very worthwhile. When you go, note that the lobby is up on the fourth floor, so there's just a small sign on the street pointing you to the elevator, not a grand entrance.

This hotel is very conveniently located in the heart of the city where you can easily get to from the Fukuoka airport. The hotel, though located in the shopping street, is having quiet environment inside room. There are hundreds of restaurants with some open for 24 hours. Can get to the Kumamoto Castle on foot in around 10 mins. Overall, the hotel room is clean and comfortable to stay.

“location is good & fair price”

Hotel Sunroute has good location in Kumamoto, our room also ok to see the night of Kumamoto Castle. room is clean & comfortable but the pillows is quite hard. my friend told me that we could choose another softly pillows as they claimed that is healthy hotel. anyway, that is quite good hotel
