“Great hotel, good value and amazing staff”

As a family of four - 2 adults and 2 children (4 and 12) we had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The location was good on a quiet street and not too far from the Kyoto station. Check-in Check-in was super smooth and the staff was extremely friendly. It had a nice, welcoming feel, which always creates a good first impression. Once the check-in process was done with, since it was a little after lunch time and the children were hungry, I asked for any restaurants in the neighborhood that served good vegetarian food. I was immediately given a printout with a list of restaurants that served vegetarian food. The recommendations were on point! Room The room was comfortable and clean. There was enough space to add a third bed, a desk area and for our suitcases (though we had to keep them on couch and sometimes on the desk. TV We had a smart TV and could login into our netflix accounts. This helped when we got back after a long day and the kids wanted to unwind. Charging points There were a few USB C type sockets in the room which came in handy to charge our devices but they did not provide a travel adaptor. Bathroom Best in class Japanese washrooms! Need I say more?! Breakfast A good spread with a dedicated section for vegetarian dishes (though it was just three things - a noodles, a soy cutlet in some gravy and boiled veges). To be honest, this wasn't as great but they had things like hash brown, a good salad spread, some soups, good range of bread options and scrambled eggs. There was also a waffle counter and soft serve ice-cream. Overall assistance The front counter staff was helpful and well informed about pretty much everything I asked - from train status (due to the cyclone) to baggage transfers, restaurant recommendations and also planning day trips (Nara etc.). It was a fantastic hotel and if in Kyoto again, we will stay here.

“Great visit in Kyoto”

The location is excellent. The atmosphere is great. The room is beautiful, the perfect size, clean and quiet. The value is unmatched. You get a lot for your money. It is completely worth it.

The hotel is fairly new and perfectly located to see Kyoto's main sites. We stayed in a family room, which was large and spacious enough for two adults and two kids. The room is a nice combo of Japanese and western touches, and even though the hotel is at a main street, the rooms were nice and quiet. The on-site restaurant practically only serves hot dogs though, so don't get any high hopes about that! Fortunately, there are plenty of other great places nearby to eat. The breakfast buffet offers great choice for japanese and american breakfast, but the continental european selection is very poor. Not the end of the world, but good to know for European families travelling with kids.

The hotel is not that great. Rooms are very tight and have no day light even with window shades open. They were also not very clean, i found hair everywhere in the bathroom. The hotel is not that great. Rooms are very tight and have no day light even with window shades open. They were also not very clean, i found hair everywhere in the bathroom. There is a fabric headboard above the bed which is full of stains. They do have a breakfast buffet but its not worth the price charged, bread was stale, fruits were from the can. Overall it was a bit disappointing. The lobby uses up so much space for nothing. we had just come in from a few days in Osaka after staying at the Courtyard and this place is nothing in comparison.
