We stayed at Imu in December 2019 for about 3 nights. It is a beautiful and quaint place. Rooms are just enough for a family - we took the biggest available as were are a couple with two grown up kids. An exclusive play/game area was a great add on for kids. Staff are friendly and well conversant in english. Breakfast spread is fab, fresh and very tasty. Location is great - highly recommend overall. A special thanks to Mr. Kodaka and Ms. Liew at the front office for their very timely and courteous help with a medical emergency. They not only spoke to the clinic but also explained the situation completely so we could just be ushered in directly and attended to. Our child was very well attended too and felt much better the next day with meds and good rest. Thanks again Kodaka-san and Liew-san.

IMU Hotel Kyoto is in a great location with easy access to both train and bus lines, making it super convenient for getting around the city. The staff spoke good English and were helpful throughout our stay. The room wasn’t very big, but there was enough space for luggage and to move around comfortably. The shower was a standout — fantastic water pressure and a great way to unwind after a day of exploring. There’s also a Family Mart just around the corner, perfect for grabbing any late-night snacks or essentials. Overall, a solid and reliable option for a stay in Kyoto — would definitely recommend.

“An enjoyable stay.”

We stayed here for 3 nights in a traditional Japanese room. The cost was around 16000 yen per night including breakfast. Location isn’t bad, there is a short walk to the Metro station. We stayed here for 3 nights in a traditional Japanese room. The cost was around 16000 yen per night including breakfast. Location isn’t bad, there is a short walk to the Metro station. There are some bars and restaurants nearby but the main tourist area and Nishiki market is maybe 10-15 minute walk. One night it was raining so we took an Uber for 1500 yen. The room was large and had very clean. The traditional bed was surprisingly comfy. Bathroom had great shower and again spotless. There is a fridge in the room but no kettle. Free coffee is available downstairs but it wasn’t great. There are no laundry facilities at this hotel. Breakfast was 10/10, well nice and choice of 6 dishes. There is a hotel bar which offers free Sake to guests. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

The hotel's location is undoubtedly one of its strongest attributes. Situated conveniently in the heart of Kyoto, it provided easy access to popular attractions and public transportation, making exploring the city a breeze. This was a significant advantage for maximizing my time in this culturally rich destination. Another commendable aspect was the hotel's commitment to cleanliness. The premises were well-maintained and the rooms were kept tidy throughout my stay. The attention to detail in terms of cleanliness contributed to a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. However, it's important to address the downsides of my experience. The room size at **Imu Hotel Kyoto** was incredibly small, to the point of feeling cramped. While compact rooms are not uncommon in Japanese hotels, the limited space in this case was noticeably restrictive.
