We had 2 rooms for our 2-night stay in Kyoto, one for me and my husband and another down the hall for my 2 teenage daughters. The double bed was a tad small for the two of us but that was what we paid for. For a slightly higher rate, my daughters had two twin beds and their room was perfect for them. Love the water filter in the rooms! Also really appreciated the gym (although small with limited equipment) and the laundry which is operated through a tablet paid with credit card, with no detergent necessary. The bakery in the lobby is awesome with a nice variety of coffees and pastries. We did not visit the on-site Italian restaurant but there was a line to get in for lunch! Gion was a 15-minute walk away, and we took an Uber/taxi to the rest of the sites although I think the subway would have been easy enough.

We spent two weeks touring Japan and spent three nights in Kyoto at this hotel. Really good experience, staff really helpful and friendly, rooms very good, high standard, we had a triple room as we travelled as a family of three, rooms in Japan tend to be on the small side, but this was great for three and we appreciated the toilet seperate from the bathroom. We ate in the hotel restaurant once which has a more Italian feel, really nice food and again good service. Breakfast excellent and freshly cooked. Rooftop bar is a really nice addition and great for sunset drinks. Hotel is a really good base for access to main Kyoto attractions, 2 mins walk to Gion district and temples, easy train connections for Fushimi Inari Taisha. Try the Taiko drum theatre, fabulous display of traditional Taiko drumming. Only minor issue we found was the access/distance to Kyoto station. There is a metro stop about 10 mins walk away, but that doesn't give you direct access to Kyoto station, we didn't use the local bus which I think stopped right outside. Overall we were really impressed and would highly recommend, Arigatou gozaimasu

This is a fabulous hotel! Rooms are beautiful -look brand new- and largest we’ve seen in western hotel. Everything works well, quick elevators, great tech. Staff are all incredibly kind and helpful with generally good English. Breakfasts are excellent with lots of fresh fruit and full buffet of everything you could ask for in a western breakfast. Roof top bar is super cool. We didn’t try the e-bikes but they had whole stable of them for nominal fee. Best hotel we encountered in Japan out of 5. Close to train and plentiful taxi’s. Area not ideal and Gion a little better and quieter overall with more access to restaurants as needed to walk a bit or taxi or train from here…small station bout a 7 minute walk

Location is excellent, walkable to Gion district and main attractions in Kyoto. This is a great hotel. Nice lobby with own bakery, good check in and spacious lovely rooms. Excellent breakfast, great roof terrace for drinks and bites. Really everything fits here, great vibes and excellent hotel. Don't think you will find a better choice in Kyoto.
