“A guesthouse with large family room for 2 adult and 2 kids above 8 yo”
LA Kyoto Guesthouse is a nice guest house in Kyoto. It has a bathroom with drying fan facilities, which can make your cloth dry in several after washing. 1 queen size double bed and 2 single bed is enough for family of four. Dining table, microwave and refrigerator help you to prepare breakfast.

“Good clean rooms with stove but need to pay extra for cooking utensils”
Clean room with stove and washing machine. The bath room can be set to dried clothes overnight. Essential to have if staying for more than a couple of days. Its 15 minutes from Kyoto station. “More self catering apartment than guesthouse”
The apartment that we had was a 1 bedroom, 2 bed with kitchenette, laundry and bathroom. The units looked fairly new and were well maintained. There is a TV/PC in the room but we didn't use it.
