Fantastic hotel with on site laundry and right across the street from the train station. Super easy to get around. Buffet was great. Offered a nice variety and plenty of seating. Fantastic hotel with on site laundry and right across the street from the train station. Super easy to get around. Buffet was great. Offered a nice variety and plenty of seating. Two blocks from a life grocery store with an amazing affordable selection of food. Bring your own bag though. Also a 5-10 min walk to nijo castle. And in general the walking is very pleasant in Kyoto. You’ll end up taking the bus more than the train. And you pay at the end of the ride.

“Comfortable hotel at a convenient location”

Stayed 2 nights at the hotel. Room we chose is 22m2 and relatively bigger than most hotel rooms in similar cost. The reception staffs are very friendly and helped us check in via the kiosk. Stayed 2 nights at the hotel. Room we chose is 22m2 and relatively bigger than most hotel rooms in similar cost. The reception staffs are very friendly and helped us check in via the kiosk. Do note that water and amenities are not placed in the room. Reusable slippers can be found in the room. Bottled water and disposable slippers can be requested from the reception and amenities can be collected from the lobby. There’s also a public bath at the first floor which I did not have time to try. There’s also hot drinks like cocoa, coffee etc available at the reception area. There’s also an open lounge in front of the reception that guests can use. Appreciate the showerhead area as most hotels do not have a separate showering area if there is a bathtub. Floor also dries easily after showering and drainage is good. Location of the hotel is great as it’s just opposite the Nijo JR station, which is a few stops away from Kyoto station. The hotel is also 5-10 mins walk away from the Nijo subway station. Breakfast was also not included in our booking so I’m unable to comment on this area. We also had to sent our luggages to Nagano and the reception staff helped us with it. We had to fill up an online form that includes the location where the luggages need to be sent to. The staff helped us print out the stickers. Do note that they only accept cash. The cost is dependent on the size of the luggages ( length plus width plus height). We had to send the luggages to the reception area one day beforehand and before 12pm.

“Would stay here again”

We enjoyed this hotel very much and would definitely stay here again. We booked a standard king room on the top floor. It was an adequate size for Japan. Positives: super comfortable bed & bedding. We enjoyed this hotel very much and would definitely stay here again. We booked a standard king room on the top floor. It was an adequate size for Japan. Positives: super comfortable bed & bedding. Of all the places we stayed (and we stayed in 5 star hotels), this hotel had the most comfortable bed by far. So cozy. Bathroom was very serviceable, with great water pressure and a large walk-in shower. Right across the street from Nijo station, with JR line & subway access making it super easy to move about Kyoto. Buses available here too, but we never needed to use the bus. 7-11 across the street at the Nijo station. Opens at 6:30a. Could use improvement: while the room was very clean, it could use updating. Appears a bit worn & tired. Coffee/tea not in room, and the coffee in the lobby is horrible. The breakfast offered for $25/day was not worth it. We were very grateful to have the 7-11 across the street, which we used daily for coffee & breakfast (egg sandos...yum). We like to start out early so this was a good option. I know some complain about self check in, but it was fast & easy, and the staff was very helpful. We didn't find this to be a negative. Overall this hotel is a great value. We really enjoyed our stay here and would not hesitate to do so again.
