This hotel is situated 30 min away from Ine . Parking is plentiful in front of hotel. There is no onsen here . Nearest onsen is Kurhaus Iwataki about a 5 minute walk away. The hotel will give you a voucher (costs 300 yen) to use at the onsen . Dinner was at the French restaurant. One could not wear the yukata to the restaurant. Taste of food 4/5 . The breads and soup delicious . Salad ok . The fish was disappointing - a bit overcooked or maybe it was the type of fish used . Dessert was a slice of strawberry mouse cake . Breakfast was adequate . Overall a fair stay .

“Shame about the beds”

Everything here is spotlessly clean and sparkling. The staff are very obliging and smiley.Our room, 406, was well appointed with good views. The car parking is ample. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast with its wide choice of good quality food. Unfortunately we found the beds to be too firm for comfor… more

Everything here is spotlessly clean and sparkling. The staff are very obliging and smiley.Our room, 406, was well appointed with good views. The car parking is ample. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast with its wide choice of good quality food. Unfortunately we found the beds to be too firm for comfort and this rather spoilt what otherwise would have been a perfect stay.

I paid 6340yen/night ,reserved about 2 months in advance on booking.com for a single room staying 2 nights. They gave me a free upgrade to a double room, which is much bigger, and at the front of the hotel with nice views.The bathrooms at this hotel are very small. Check-in at the hotel is not until 3pm, so if you come in the morning and want to explore Amanohashidate, you can store your bags across the street from the JR station for free if your a guest at the hotel(ask at the tourist center). They also have small lockers at the station if your traveling light.The hotel has a free shuttle pick-up at the train station at 3,4,5,and 6pm. Shuttle back to the Amanohashidate JR Station, from the hotel is at 815am, 920am, 10am,11am. The staff are very nice, and some speak English. The WiFi worked only one of the 2 nights and was unsecured. There is a great supermarket about 2km away, and the bus stop for the bus to INE is about 800 meters away.They have bicycle rentals at the hotel, but I walked everywhere. Ask for a map at the front desk. The air-con had no temperature control, but has a fan speed switch beside the bed. It kept the room very comfortable.There is a safe in the room and a small fridge. Kettle and tea are supplied. I did not eat breakfast at the hotel but it was 1660yen. I was very pleased with my stay.

The hotel is getting a little old and shabby in places, but it's well-maintained and looked after. The receptionist was friendly. They provided some amenitities for ladies (on the front desk, set off to the far right) as well as some instant corn or consomme soup ... but, I had to ask if I could take them. The hotel's area is very quiet - you cannot hear any traffic. The veiw from the room is quite good - not exactly the best angle for the sandbar but, it's still visible. We chose a twin room, as they tend to be a little more spacious ... the beds were bigger and comfy. They also provided 2 kids books (only in Japanese), 2 scented sachets to put under your pillow (lavendar and rose) and 2 origami cranes placed on the bed - which was a nice touch of hospitality. The only bad point of the room is the "unit bathroom", it's extremely cramped ... hitting knees and elbows constantly. They provided a free ticket for the bath house next door (3 minutes walk), which is very old, but big. The bath water wasn't so hot ... but better than trying to squeeze into the one in the room. We used the laundry facilities on the 2nd floor to clean some clothes, which was reasonably cheap. The lift in the hotel is slow, too ... The breakfast was pretty good ... being a weekday the selection was okay, but many of the dishes had been sitting there for some time. They had a good selection of Japanese and Western food - but, not any plain white bread (raisin bread rolls, chocolate bread and one other sweet pasrty is available). We felt it was a little expensive for the area, especially on a weekday ... but, perhaps we needed to search for a better price.
