Imagine my surprise when we arrived at Sendai station, with all our baggage, and realizing we exited onto an elevated walkway. Here's a tip: DO NOT USE GOOGLE MAPS TO NAVIGATE TO THE HOTEL HERMANA FROM THE STATION! Instead, stay on the elevated walkway and walk towards (and around) the Parco shopping mall, then through (yes, through) the AER shopping mall and you'll end up at the Hotel Monte Hermana Sendai. The hotel provides commonly needed (and forgotten) toiletries right next to the front desk. They also offered us one free drink from their cooler at arrival. Your room key doesn't just open your room door (and turn on all the lights when you put it in a slot by the door), it also gives you access to your floor. My favorite part of the room is that they provide pajamas. I'm 6'3" (1.9m) and they fit! There's a shopping arcade nearby, accessible via the elevated walkway, with plenty of coffee shops, crane games, fast food restaurants and convenience stores. We wanted to make reservations at a restaurant in Morioka but they only took reservations over the phone in Japanese. The front desk staff was more than happy to help us with that. Very helpful staff, so many conveniences provided and so much nearby to give you the full Japanese fantasy. Stay here if you're coming to Sendai.

“Excellent hotel, very close to the city and Sendai Main Station”

The hotel is about 200 m from the main station with many restaurants and shops. At the station, one of the main shopping malls starts towards the city. The hotel is about 200 m from the main station with many restaurants and shops. At the station, one of the main shopping malls starts towards the city. Very friendly personnel, complimentary coffee, juice and water from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the lobby. Free WiFi. Very clean rooms, daily cleaning, fridge. Portable free mobile phone with google maps etc. in the room, very helpful in Japan for foreigners. The room was not too large for two persons, but o.k. For working with the PC, I went to the lobby. Very good breakfast, cooked and continental. Hot spa in the ninth floor (Japanese style), but we did not try, Vending machines on the floor, including beer, whiskey-soda etc. We would certainly come back again.

“Great location! Convenient for everything!”

Stayed three separate nights at this conveniently located hotel during my recent visit to Miyagi and Iwate. We used Sendai as our base for starting off our snowboard trip to Appi Kogen, followed by Tsunagi Onsen and Matsushima. I picked this hotel for its proximity to Sendai JR Station and the Miyagi Sendai Highway Bus Center, as well as the availability of a public bath. It fitted me perfectly. There is a walkway on the 2F where you could walk from Exit C of Sendai JR Station directly to the hotel without having to walk onto the street. Similarly I used the walkway to go to the highway bus center which was even closer. My superior twin room was not very big but could meet my needs. We had breakfast in the hotel once and found it ok in terms of food quality and variety. Can’t compare with 5-star hotels of course. For all the convenience I enjoyed, I would stay at this hotel again if ever I visit Sendai in the future.
