“Comfortable hotel with excellent location”
We stayed here 3 nights. The location was convenient to public transport, several good restaurants and plenty of shopping opportunities. Breakfast included both Japanese dishes and western items. An optional all-Japanese breakfast is offered.

“Nice beds, room, and bathroom”
We stayed at hotels in Tokyo and in Osaka and this was by far the most comfortable bed and pillows. Rooms are a good size including the bathroom and the hotel staff is very friendly. “Trying too hard to seem old?”
The Monterey is an interesting hotel. The façade looks like a historic building on the bottom with a modern tower of rooms glued on top. “Rooms and amenities”
The room furniture is kind of old. The aircon not cold. Poor sound proof. Can hear next door when moving the bed back to the wall. There is a seven eleven next to the hotel. It is near Sendai station. Lift access from the link bridge to ground level.
