3 lovely nights here - we had an exec king on the top floor - amazing views and service at the hotel, especially the Exec lounge which is open all day and wine / beer etc available all day with tea and canapés in the evening. Delightful staff helped booked a restaurant for us. Only downside the Gym is very small and the only weight machine was out of use.

“Great accommodation and great place to stay!”

Another great stay at the Westin Sendai, for just three nights this time, in early April. Another great stay at the Westin Sendai, for just three nights this time, in early April. Once again spacious, comfortable and well-designed accommodation with a wonderful view through floor-length windows. I'd asked if I could have a room facing the same way as on previous stays and the hotel staff obliged. I love that view - city buildings, roads, the river, forested hills and to the left some distance away, the sea! At night many lights and the ones on the horizon seem to sparkle. I appreciate having a capsule coffee machine with new capsules provided each day (also electric jug and teabags). There's a mini bar too. The room service meals and the breakfasts were very good. There's a freestanding table, wheeled chair and easy chair, big wardrobe, bedside drawers, wall tv, a safe, good lighting, and ample power sockets. Just inside the door there's a beautiful gold plate-shaped artwork. The bathroom was a good size with a deep bath, large sink, lots of bench space and complimentary toiletries. A very nice dressing gown, pjs and slippers for use while there. A recycling bin which you don't often see in Japanese hotels. The staff are helpful and the hotel is within walking distance of JR Sendai Station (takes about 10 minutes) and many sights. Taxis right outside, supermarkets nearby. Hope to be there again next year!

“The best in Sendai”

In my experience this is the best hotel in Sendai, though location-wise I still prefer the Metropolitan East. Service was overall excellent. In my experience this is the best hotel in Sendai, though location-wise I still prefer the Metropolitan East. Service was overall excellent. Restaurant staff were fantastic - on our second day, they remembered our meal and drink choices. A few comments - Could avoid putting boxes of bathroom amenities on display at the check in counters, which makes the place look tacky. Could avoid breakfast vouchers for the same reason. Check-in staff need better training - I was informed that I had been upgraded to a higher category Twin room, while I had booked a King room. The staff seemed flustered when we said we can't take a twin room as we had a kid staying with us (which was mentioned in our booking). After a long wait this was sorted out but was surprised how they could change our room type without our approval. But these don't take away from an otherwise great stay.

First of all, this is NOT a 5 star hotel. Sendai is not Tokyo and expectations should be lower. The location is excellent. First of all, this is NOT a 5 star hotel. Sendai is not Tokyo and expectations should be lower. The location is excellent. Close to a mini-supermarket (with wines) and Lawson's convenience store which is opened 24 hours. The atmosphere is very business like, which is to be expected. Rooms are clean and pleasant, with a great view of Sendai City. Value is OK, as breakfast service is excellent with many choices, even my favorite cereal was available. Bathroom amenities - I have never been in a hotel where guests have to pick up their own toothbrushes and toothpaste at Reception!!! This is really quite unusual. Noise level - noise is virtually non-existent in the room so we had very good nights of sleep. But, do not expect the level of service at a 5 star hotel in Tokyo or Osaka. Staff training is lacking even though they are very polite.
