“Ichinoyu Katai - an Onsen Experience”
We stayed 2 nights in January so plenty of snow. Received a warm welcome when we arrived and a tour of the facilities. The room was spacious, 6 tatami mats wide by 3 long, well appointed and clean. Ichinoyu is located within Sibu Onsen area but we found the onsite hot baths preferable to the street… more

“Onsen in onsen town”
Traditional, quaint but world class service. Room was large, futon/bedding was comfortable, room included private toilet, and ryokan provided a clean, m/w separate onsen on top floor with all expected amenities. We lucked out with a cancellation for dinner so managed to enjoy a multicourse event … more

“True Japanese Experience”
Authentic Japanese hotel in a gorgeous village. Serves breakfast & dinner which are both Japanese and delicious. Helpful transport to and from the nearby station. Access to many local onsens provided, as well as those in the hotel itself. No showers - bathing is done in the onsens.

Gave me ride from local train station to ryokan, and from ryokan to Snow Monkey Park (even better, suggest… more

A long freckles 4kms to the Snow Monkeys which was the main purpose of my visit. Thoroughly recommended if you’d lik… more
