“JR a good hotel to stay”

Good location. Room were spacious. Provided complimentary water snd coffee. Towels changed everyday. Rooms were made up everyday too. Thumbs up to the room service.

The location is excellent. The hotel is located in a shopping mall right next to Nagasaki train station and the bus stop for shuttle bus from the airport. A brief walk from the hotel is a stop for the number 1 and 3 trams which will take you to pretty much all the tourist locations in Nagasaki. It would benefit from better signage, because finding the hotel is pretty difficult. The room was nice, immaculately clean as (almost) always in Japan. The bed was a little bit too hard for my liking. Staff were courteous, although it never ceases to amaze me how difficult it is to communicate in English in Japan, even with people working in the tourism industry. Several times we had to give up on, in my view, pretty straightforward questions. But at least we tried. Breakfast is served in one of the restaurants inside the shopping mall. It was included in my reservation, but if you have to pay extra I'd say it's not worth it.

Expected value for the money : convenient location, good service. Rooms are small as per Japanse standard. Parking behind the hotel for reasonable price, but difficult to find due to reconstruction activities. Staff helps explaining the route. Good for exploring the town for some days.

Locating the hotel is a problem unless you know where to look. It's up an escalator on the exterior of the building to the 2nd level. Despite that, the signage at the entrance isn't obvious and is only in Japanese, which makes finding the hotel even more of a challenge. All these factors make locating the hotel from the ground level near impossible, and when you're fresh off a long train ride dragging 2 luggages with you, you first instinct is never to search for a hotel's entrance on level 2. Some obvious signs and directions wound have made a huge difference. The building is shared with a shopping mall, which contributes to the convenience. There's a supermarket (Seiyu) nearby, a variety of restaurants, convenience stores, and Nagasaki train station within the immediate vicinity. Being so close to the mall allows for shopping to be offloaded in the hotel room really easily. The room itself is fine. It's got the typical stuff you'd need - bed, ensuite bathroom, refrigerator, electric kettle. A nice touch is that a phone charger with lightning cable, USB C, and micro USB ends was left in the room for guests' use. There's body wash, shampoo, and conditioner in the ensuite and more toiletries (cotton buds, razer, shaving foam, etc.) to grab from the lobby if needed. Wi-Fi connectivity was surprisingly terrible and inconsistent. When it works, videos can be steamed without any issues as one wound expect of any hotel wifi. When it doesn't work, one can't even make a video call, and there's no way of rectifying it; forget about moving to another part of the room in hopes that the wifi signal will be stronger - when it isn't working, it isn't working and it's anybody's guess when it'll be up and running again. If I had known what I now know, I would have opted for another nearby hotel especially since there are a few other options within stone's throw despite this hotel being more reasonably priced.
