We stayed at a room overlooking the river. The room was spacious and comfortable, there is a platform area next to the window where we can sit and enjoyed the beautiful view of the river. I was a little disappointed that the outdoor bath got no view of the river. There is however a salt scrub in the sauna which was quite nice to use. 2 meals are included in the package. Meal was average for Japanese standard. The perk is free flow drink bar (non alcoholic) and soft serve. The breakfast is semi buffet.

Breakfast is great value buffet style, staff are all happy and helpful . Highly recommended to go on YAKATABUNE (Japanese style boat ) The meals at the boat was wonderful and so cheep US $65.(around 2-3 hours cruse and amazing japanese style beautiful dinner/We ordered 1 bottle of beer between us and it was just plus 600 yen US$6 ) All of the staff at this hotel seems to like happy to work there ,and it feels like big family atmosphere. The boat cruse and stop at the river then 3 different musical boat cruse around the boat ... Beautiful trip!! Single room was very Japanese style and pretty big space too.(I think they have western style single room too.) We paid each single room including breakfast less than US$60 short walk from station and lots of cheep and yummy eating and little bar etc around this place . If you would like to have nice Japanese experience with reasonable cost,I highly recommend this warm friendly Japanese inn. Enjoy!!

Stayed here for 3 nights. Don't be put off by the approach to the hotel as it is actually right on the river. It is slightly shabby on the outside but clean and in a perfect place to explore the town of Hita. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was traditional Japanese with tatami mats and we had a view over the river to the left out of the window. Breakfast was buffet style which made it easier for my husband who is vegetarian. Food mostly Japanese style but also had breads. Beds are futon style made up each day. Room was quite large with a table and floor chairs with cushions. Have to remove shoes and walk on tatami mats in socks. As in all the Japanese hotels we stayed in there was the usual electric toilet. As we were a bit out of season it was very quiet in Hita and not always obvious where the restaurants were. One of the staff at the hotel walked us to a restaurant one evening otherwise we would never have found it which was really nice of him. Think it must be a family run hotel. The lady at the buffet breakfast had some English and was very helpful when choosing what to eat. Really jolly lady. The hotel is walkable from the station but would advise you get a taxi when you first arrive otherwise you might not find it. After that you can orientate yourself. Visited Onta pottery village by taxi from here. There is a also lots to see in Hita itself. Had a great stay
