“Very convenient and value for money ”

This Toyoko Inn is quite new and the location is very strategic. It is about 5 mins walk from the train station, next to a arcade shopping street and a small mall with perhaps, the most beautiful book store in Okayama. This Toyoko Inn is quite new and the location is very strategic. It is about 5 mins walk from the train station, next to a arcade shopping street and a small mall with perhaps, the most beautiful book store in Okayama. It is also walking distance to Bic Camera, Takashimaya and also the new AEON Mall. The breakfast variety is ok, but can't beat the Toyoko Inn Miyazaki that we stayed a night before.

Stayed 2 nites here. Con - check in at 4pm is rather ridiculous as almost a full day is gone! We had to sit & wait, we managed to get into room for much needed rest at 3.45pm! Room size was very acceptable though bathroom was small, the high step up & down could post a hazard but its a matter of being careful! Breakfast was the best draw for Toyoko Inn, starts at 7am, best is Q at 6.50am or go after 7.20am when the rush crowd leaves! We booked directly via website & saved ¥300 for Eco Plan for min 2 nites stay, meaning they dont turn down your bed but will still hang fresh towels/pyjamas on your doorknob! Location is great but staff, though very young japanese speak no english, each time you ask a question, they whip out some info sheets showing the answers so no engagement whatsoever! There is no way to communicate with hotel except call & fax, a kind japanese helped me call & spoke to them over phone to find my lost ring, had to take train all the way back to collect ring! Overall I am pleased & will book with Toyoko Inn chain again!

Easily walkable from Okayama Station. Cross the street, down the shopping arcade, second left and there you are. Use the simplified map on the official website as a guide. The station itself is depressingly bland, but it’s a major transport hub (especially for rail services crossing south to Shikoku) so there’s a good range of options for shopping and dining. For more basic needs, there’s a Family Mart (convenience store chain) on the same street a couple of blocks away. Typical Toyoko Inn - if you’ve seen others in the chain, you’ll have some idea of what to expect here. Small but well-kept room with all the essentials, including an ensuite bathroom. (The tub is quite small, but I have no use for tubs; showers are all I need.) Bear in mind that the hotel (indeed the Toyoko chain as a whole) caters in large part to white-collar chaps on short business trips, as opposed to leisure travellers; you won’t find a gym or pool or other facilities of that sort here. And if one keeps in mind that the nightly rates are on the low end of midrange for Japan, the facilities seem fair for the price-point. Basic breakfast in the morning, mainly Japanese style (rice etc.). Starts at 0700, which is a little late for me personally - I like taking very early train services - but might suit others. Will gladly stay again.

Hotel is easy to access fron Okayama station, only a short walk into small rooftop road beside BIG Camera store. Hotel location made it easy to eat, to shopping and to sight seeing. Room and breakfast is Toyoko Inn standard.
