My husband did a 90 min massage and I did 90 minutes face treatment. Kudo touch during the facile message was gentle and relaxing. I didn't want it to end . She welcomed us and was so patient and service oriented My husband massage was as he requested and the massagist ( sorry for not recall her name) was attentive and he enjoyed it as well. The tea and snack Atmosphere is great in the Spa. We liked the design of the place as well.

We stayed at this hotel for almost a week and were initially a bit disappointed to learn that half of the property is accessible only to IHG Members. Most of the pictures shown on the hotel’s website feature this members-only area, so it was quite a shock when we were informed that we were only allowed to use the "kids" area. Snorkeling trips and other activities need to be booked well in advance. Unfortunately, the earliest availability we could get was for our fourth day. I would strongly recommend booking activities ahead of your stay, especially if you’re only visiting for two or three nights. Additionally, the beach features a large water playground for children that takes up almost the entire area. Outside of this zone, swimming is apparently not allowed. This means that instead of enjoying a natural beach view, you mainly see a large blue and green water park. However, our experience completely changed when we met Gagandeo, the F&B Manager. He approached us in a very friendly manner, and we started a conversation. After we shared some of our experiences, he truly went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. Coming from the hospitality industry myself, I’ve seen many places, and Gagandeo is a true example of what hospitality is all about: kindness, passion, a strong customer focus, and a genuine willingness to go the extra mile to make a guest’s stay memorable. The way he treated both his team and the guests in his restaurant was truly impressive. Employees like Gagandeo are invaluable to any hotel, as he sets a powerful example of how genuine hospitality and strong leadership can elevate the entire brand.

“Quality rooms, 3-star resort, sub-par service”

We stayed in the Bay Wing which is much more modern and luxurious than the main building. Comfortable nicely decorated rooms with appropriate 5 star luxury in terms of the matrasses, service and amenities. Nice views on higher floors. Check in took ages. We stayed in the Bay Wing which is much more modern and luxurious than the main building. Comfortable nicely decorated rooms with appropriate 5 star luxury in terms of the matrasses, service and amenities. Nice views on higher floors. Check in took ages. Unfortunately staff hardly speak English so discussing rooms/upgrades, ordering drinks or food is a hassle. Service is also extremely slow and inefficient. Despite showing pictures of matrasses on the sunloungers on the website, these did not exist in reality. We complained about this deception as laying on hard rotan sunloungers was very uncomfortable. As a consequence we were allowed to use the cabanas for which other guests had to pay. The restaurant is a hit and miss with a good breakfast but the buffet diner did not live up to expectations as all food was lukewarm or out. The resort itself is nice but the beach was under construction and the grounds are not maintained to the same standards as we are accustomed to elsewhere. Lots of yellow spots and tall grass. And this was not because of low season as the hotel was quite full. Despite being IHG Platinum and ordering a high floor (the highest category in Bay Wing) the hotel did not upgrade us to the next level which would have been a Club room where the small pool does have matrasses on the sunloungers. There are a few restaurants nearby as well as a Family Mart. Many hotel guests went there for lunch or afternoon drinks. Also because service at the pool was non-existent. And if drinks were brought, no one came to clean up thereafter. This meant birds could have a go or plastic cups would be blown into the pool. All in all, not the 5 star luxury an Intercontinental should offer.
