During our recent holiday to Japan in Feb 2026, we had the pleasure of staying at the excellent Canopy Hilton Osaka Umeda twice for three nights and six nights respectively. This establishment, which opened on September 2024, boasts all the contemporary amenities one anticipates from a Hilton property. For our first three-night stay, the room came with a bottle of sake and some Cheese-In Kakitane snack, but no doggy amenities. For our second six-night stay, we were given the doggy amenities, but no sake and cheese snacks. Wonder why there is some inconsistency even though we paid the same price for the same exact room. Anyway, the hotel's proximity to Osaka City is quite convenient, as most points of interest are easily accessible, with Osaka Station, Yodobashi Camera and other major malls being within walking distance. The corner-suite comes with two 55" Smart TV which you can sign-in to watch your Netflix or Youtube videos. However, I would have preferred if they allow the TV to swivel so that I can attach my HDMI cable to watch my own movies from my tablet, laptop or phone. While the in-room dining menu is currently rather limited, we are hopeful they will add more dishes and options to the menu. We wanted to order room service as we can't bring out dog to the restaurant, but their in-room dining options are really limited. We booked the corner suite and were awed by the view. It provides a truly panoramic and breathtaking vista of the city and Umeda Sky especially in the golden and blue hour when the buildings are lit up. We certainly plan to stay at this hotel again if we come back to Osaka, mainly because Sena and her colleagues are so welcoming towards our little doggy. Our only suggestion for improvement would be to expand the in-room dining menu, as we found ourselves needing to order from Uber Eats due to the current limited selections.

Getting here from Osaka or Umeda Station is a bit confusing, especially with luggage, but once you figure it out, it is actually pretty simple. If you can navigate to the 2nd floor of Grand Front Osaka, then take the pedestrian overpass to Grand Front Osaka (North Building), then cross the street via pedestrian overpass to Grand Green Osaka - then you have found yourself at the entrance of Canopy Osaka Umeda. They honored my Hilton Gold status, giving us a beautiful room on the highest floor and rewarding us with free daily breakfast. The view from the room was honestly the best view of all my trips to Japan so far. While this area is still being developed, it is such a nice property and is away from all the hustle and bustle of noisy Dotonbori/Shinsaibashi/Namba areas. It is also so close to all the shopping you'll need at Umeda, Lucua, Yodabashi, and Grand Front. It's such a massive labyrinth of shops and restaurants to explore. The luggage storage employee was also nice enough to notice that we had a lot of bags when checking out, and she helped us bring them down to the first floor. Another tip: If you're taking the Haruka to Kansai Airport from Osaka Station, enter via the Umekita Underground Gate. Going through this exit will save you so much time and put you right next to the Haruka platforms. We made the mistake of walking all the way to the Central Gate with all our luggage. Talk about a workout right before the flight!

We had a wonderful stay at the Canopy by Hilton in Osaka. The hotel is clean and modern, located in a fantastic spot with easy access to the train station, making getting around the city very convenient. The staff were professional, friendly, and genuinely helpful, delivering top-notch service throughout our stay. A special shoutout to Ricardo, a gentleman from Brazil at the front desk, who provided exceptional service and made us feel very welcome. Our room was large, stylish, and well-appointed with thoughtful amenities that added to our comfort. One thing to note is that the hotel can be a bit tricky to find at first since the lobby is located on the 11th floor of the building, but once there, the spacious lobby area with its beautiful bar and dining space is impressive and inviting. Overall, we had an excellent experience and would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Osaka. Highly recommended!
