Fab, fab, fabulous. We are seasoned travellers and this is one of the BEST hotels we have ever stayed at. Extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and the room was exceptional. Large, seperate large shower bathroom, very large main room/bedroom with large sunny window and very classy furniture. Breakfast choices are endless and service first class. Excellent facilities nearby for restaurants/cafe's and a general store, free bus to main railway station

“Excellent stay but bad food and bellboy luggage service”

Location is excellent, rooms are gorgeous and so are the views, rooms are spacious and comfortable; love the mattresses at all westins and staff was good. Location is excellent, rooms are gorgeous and so are the views, rooms are spacious and comfortable; love the mattresses at all westins and staff was good. Bellboy service was horrible where he was trying to boss around me and was super curious if i am checking out or something. Food in restaurant was horribly bad, esp. after paying 5500 yen for a breakfast like a motel with almost no vegan options and serving fried potatoes in same place as chicken. I would give a 0 for their breakfast. But apart from that, the stay was excellent.

“Quiet pocket in central Osaka”

I booked a standard guest room as a gold member. A couple days before check in I was upgraded to a Renewal room, not a significant upgrade but I appreciate any upgrade at all! The room itself was the standard size I would expect of an upscale western chain in Japan. I noticed that the design of the bathroom is the exact same as the Westin Tokyo which is my preferred upscale Marriott location in Tokyo. The room had a pretty nice view of the western Osaka cityscape. The hotel itself is located northwest of Osaka Station and was about a 10 minute walk from the station. The walk feels a bit longer than the maps would suggest. I think that this is a borderline acceptable walk without luggage and is a bit of a slog with luggage, especially if you are coming from the subway side. There is a shuttle to Osaka Station however it operates on the weekend and holidays. The Osaka Station stop is on the west side close to the Sakurabashi gate. Transit time is also about 10 minutes so it’s useful if you have luggage or are non-ambulatory. Otherwise walking takes about the same amount of time. The shuttle has very obvious red Westin livery. The local neighborhood is pretty quiet and pleasant. Perhaps this will change with the continued development of Grand Green Osaka in the future. There is a 7-11 very close by as well as some small local restaurants. Of course, as you can see from the pictures this hotel is right next to the Umeda Sky Building. I personally prefer the view at Abeno Harukas 300 however I don’t regret trying Umeda Sky Building and I don’t think you can go wrong at either. Overall I had a pleasant stay and I think this hotel is a decent central base for sightseeing in Osaka.
