As a long-time Hilton Honors Diamond member, I have stayed at Hilton hotels across the world, as well as many other luxury hotels over the years. Our recent stay at the Waldorf Astoria Osaka was, without question, one of the best and most memorable hotel experiences we have ever had. We arrived on 29 June 2026 and were warmly greeted by several bellmen, who quickly unloaded our luggage from the taxi. Toki, the Guest Services Manager, welcomed us with genuine warmth and took the time to ask about our journey to the hotel. After our chat, another team member escorted us to the check-in area on the 29th floor. As soon as we arrived, Yukari, the Front Desk Manager, greeted us by name with a warm smile before we had even introduced ourselves. She then personally escorted us to our King Corner Suite, where she completed the check-in process. It was a smooth, seamless and very welcoming arrival. Our King Corner Suite was beautiful. It was spacious, tastefully decorated and had a calm, Zen-like feel. It was the perfect place to relax after a busy day exploring Osaka. Our luggage arrived shortly afterwards, and we quickly settled in. Every morning, as we walked past the front desk on our way to breakfast or out for the day, Nagisa from the Front Desk greeted us by name. She set the tone, but what really stood out was that the entire front office team shared the same warmth and attention to detail. Whether we were leaving for the day or returning in the evening, someone would always greet us with a smile and a friendly "Good morning," "Good afternoon," or "Welcome back." After a long day out exploring Osaka, it was always a pleasure to walk back into the hotel and feel so genuinely welcomed. These small gestures made us feel like valued guests rather than just another room number, and Yukari deserves a great deal of credit for building such an exceptional front office team. Breakfast each morning at Jolie Brasserie was excellent. Although the restaurant was usually busy, the staff kept everything running smoothly and service was always efficient. As Diamond members, we were also given a special à la carte menu, and my favourite dish was the Wagyu Beef Udon, which was absolutely delicious. Stefano from the Bell and Concierge team also made a big impression. Seeing that we were still getting familiar with the area, he kindly offered to drive us to the nearby shopping mall. During the short drive, he pointed out places of interest and gave us useful tips on getting around Osaka. It was a thoughtful gesture that helped us settle into the city much more quickly. We were also impressed that every team member we met spoke excellent English, so communication was never a problem. On our final day, while we were waiting in the lobby for our pre-booked car, Shota from the Bell and Concierge team came over and asked if he could help. I gave him our driver's local contact number, and he quickly found out that the driver was having trouble locating the hotel. Thanks to Shota's initiative, our driver arrived soon afterwards. He then helped load all of our luggage into the car and wished us a safe journey. He is a wonderful young man with a great attitude, and I am sure he has a bright future in the hospitality industry. A luxury hotel is about much more than beautiful rooms and impressive facilities. What really makes a stay special is the people, and the team at the Waldorf Astoria Osaka truly made our visit unforgettable. Every staff member we met was warm, professional and genuinely cared about making our stay enjoyable. This is exactly the kind of genuine Japanese hospitality that keeps guests coming back. Our sincere thanks to Toki, Yukari, Nagisa, Stefano, Shota and the rest of the team for looking after us so well. We cannot wait to return the next time we visit Osaka.

“Exquisite property!”

My husband, a friend, and I stayed at this wonderful hotel for three nights, and we only wished our stay could have been at least five nights longer. We were celebrating my birthday, and the team went above and beyond to make it special, including having birthday cakes waiting in both of our rooms upon arrival. We spent most of our time on-site at the Peacock Bar & Lounge, enjoying the stunning views and the delicious daily breakfast. A special shout-out to the entire team at Canes & Tales bar for their fabulous drinks and exceptional service. Even though they were busier than usual, they still managed to accommodate the three of us with warmth. A shout out for the fabulous Spa as well. Overall, it was a truly memorable stay, and we would return in a heartbeat. Arigato gozaimasu to all the team members for their unparalleled hospitality and for making my birthday celebration so special.

“Service Lacking Unfortunately”

5-star facilities, 3-star service, esp. at the restaurant. Have stayed with many Hilton brand hotels all over the world over the decades, and was looking forward to staying here, and the relatively new facilities in a gentrified area of Umeda/Osaka did not disappoint--rooms, 20m lap pool, 24hr gym, walking distance from Umeda station, etc. But the staff esp. in the restaurant could receive further training on providing a Waldorf-like customer service, regardless of who they are, where they are from, and/or how they may look, etc. The quality of service at the restaurant was disappointing to say the least--a Hilton Diamond member is a Diamond member regardless of outward appearances. Another let down was the lack of a lounge--their "lounge" was essentially a study-like library where one may have warm beverages, nothing more, nothing less. The next time we are in the Osaka area, we would opt for either the Conrad or Hilton as this will most definitely be our last stay at the Waldorf Osaka.
