This marked my second stay within a Waldorf Astoria property, and I had long been curious about this particular hotel. I was therefore delighted to finally have the opportunity to visit together with my family. As is often the case, one encounters a certain diversity in service — while some bell staff appeared somewhat reserved, others displayed a level of attentiveness that felt genuinely thoughtful, even going so far as to accompany us towards the nearby station to ensure we were properly guided. It was a small gesture, yet one that left a lasting impression. The ground floor was especially charming, adorned with bonsai, curated artworks, and books featuring Nagasaki illustrations, all of which created a quietly refined atmosphere. Upon ascending and passing through Peacock Alley, we proceeded to check-in, where one could clearly sense the signature touch of Andre Fu’s design throughout the space. Peacock Alley itself was particularly striking. Despite being situated at the very heart of the building, the descending staircase created a sense of depth and discovery, while at the same time opening up to a panoramic view of Osaka that unfolded almost theatrically. The lighting, delicately suspended, further enhanced the elegance of the space, and the camellia blossoms subtly reminded us that spring had indeed arrived. While the check-in process did not feel entirely aligned with what one might ordinarily expect of the Waldorf Astoria standard, the property’s physical presence and design were, without question, exceptional. I must also take a moment to commend the concierge team, both of whom were truly outstanding. After a somewhat disappointing first impression during check-in, it was largely thanks to their professionalism and warmth that our overall experience was so swiftly restored. Finally, the view over the Yodogawa River at sunset was nothing short of magnificent. We had initially planned to visit the Umeda Sky Building, though in the end, we found ourselves quite content simply taking in the view from the hotel itself. Overall, it was a stay that left a deep and lasting impression, in ways both expected and, perhaps, unexpectedly so.

Phenomenal hotel in the ideal location in Osaka. Beautiful city views from the rooms and restaurants. Most impressive here was the incredible team who works to make sure your experience is exceptional. We were so impressed by the Waldorf Astoria Osaka Concierge Team (Rami, Yuma, Aajon, Yuriko, Hazuki, and Kana). They made a once in a lifetime experience possible for us and were so fabulous to work with. We also had the most memorable experience with Rintaro Kimoto, a Guest Service captain, who went out of his way to walk our family to a nearby location for something our kids needed. We are grateful and will be back to visit this amazing hotel!
