If you like risotto, this is the place you should stay and have dinner. Beef served in dinner is also excellent. Room is spacious and you have a private 'onsen' in your balcony overlooking the Suruga Bay. You should enjoy very beautiful sunset from the room too. Remember to pack your clothings in a small bag before you check in, there is no lift and your room could be on the 2/F. Hard and dangerous to move big pieces of luggages up and down the staircase.

Good location for ocean and village views decorated by sunset and easy access from Tokyo via Tomei and Izu-Jyukan motorway, more than sufficiently large and well designed room, comfortable bed to sleep, good meals and nice individual dining rooms and efficient services overall all at a reasonable price are the attraction. As there are only 8 guest rooms and dining rooms are well hidden one hardly encounters with other guests. For the price we paid I must say dinner and breakfast were very good. Both are fixed Japanese meals well prepared and cooked. Seafood was of good quality particularly for “Nabe Ryori”(hot pot cooking) for which lobster, crab, oyster and sermon were in place among others. While these were being cooked venison poele with salad was served and it was surprisingly delicious though we usually avoid game of any kind. Sake for selection was good with reasonable price and quantity which is not so prevailing these days. When you order 1 small pot (“go”in Japanese) sake at restaurants and “Izakaya” bar you usually get only 0.8 “go”. A small private park up the little hill behind is charming with a very good view of the port and sea. So to us veteran travelers this “Ryokan” was almost perfect. Shortcomings are bath only available outdoor on terrace so not appropriate in winter, TV for BS channels unavailable causing travelers anxious to catch international news inconvenient, and sharp steps up toward second and third levels. Last but not least important I must mention that the bill we paid for us two was about Yen 60,000 including drinks and services.
