Attended an offsite in this location. Very calm, tranquil setting Good food for breakfast and dinner. Private onsen in your room is amazing, very peaceful. Good amenities in room, quiet, high quality environment. Would return back here with family.

We stayed for 3 nights visiting the autumn leaves in Shuzenji. Around the neighbourhood, not many big hotels and small ryokan are your only choice. This is a very small town with several soba restaurants and a handful of convenience stores (like 2 or 3 within 10km). The hotel is located in a remote area that caters mainly to golfers. The train station to the hotel is about 10km and a car is a must to move around the pretty greenery and vast landscape. The hotel to the main road is about a 5km steep and winding road for those thinking of a walk Very beautiful hotel layout, well maintained and well layout. This hotel is dog friendly and spacious room. The room features indoor Onsen facing Mount Fuji (inside the bathroom) and onsen on the balcony (rooms facing the mountains). Overall the hotel gives you a feel that you here to relax and do nothing. Just to cheer out and admire Mount Fuji. The staff were very helpful with our luggages and restaurant reservations. Fantastic staff and always helpful with our questions. The only setback is limited food choices, so I suggest to pack some snacks, drinks, pastries or instant noodles to supplement. The only restaurant in the hotel is quite expensive and the portions are small. The standard dinner buffet starts from 8500y and there are many add-on for meat upgrade ( a buffet meal may cost you up to 13,500y). We chose the ala carte menu as we had 3 nights. Even the ala carte menu like the Australian (5,000y) or Japanese steak 100g (10,000y) does not come with rice or vegetables. A bowl of rice is 400y and veggies or salads cost about 1000y onwards. On average a meal is about 8000y-12,000y. We drove to town for our soba and sushi lunch and sightseeing. The hotel has vending machines selling drinks and instant noodles. There is coin operated laundry machines. The big common onsen on the ground floor is spacious and there are kids playroom. I would have given this hotel 5 stars if not for the food choices but we be back next year as the vibe is fantastic.

Nestled high in the mountains, the hotel offered stunning scenery and a truly relaxing atmosphere. However, getting there without a car required a bit of patience—we had to either take a shuttle or wait around 15 minutes for a taxi from Shuzenji Station. While the hotel itself didn’t have an open-air hot spring bath, we were given access to one at Hotel Laforet Shuzenji, located about a 20-minute walk or a quick 5-minute drive away. It was a nice touch that helped make up for the absence of an on-site rotenburo. Breakfast was served buffet-style, with a generous spread and plenty of variety to suit different tastes. We dined at the hotel one evening; although the meal was on the pricier side and the beer selection was limited, the food itself was excellent. Our room was spotless and featured a lovely private in-room hot spring bath, which added a layer of comfort and luxury to the stay. The staff were consistently warm, attentive, and helpful throughout, making the experience feel welcoming and well cared for.

I had a comfortable one-night stay in July 2024. One night is not enough because this hotel is part of a larger resort that is oriented around outdoor activities. There are tennis courts, walking paths, and the golf course. The location is very remote, but there is supposed to be a shuttle from the nearest train station. I drove to here and there is free parking. The room was nice and I had no complaints. It's as expected from a Marriott-branded property. There is an onsen in the hotel and there is a bath house that people staying elsewhere on the property can use. However, the bath house is around a mile (maybe more) away. It's inconvenient (at best) at night.
