Conveniently near the railway station. Staff speak English. There is a washing machine and dryer (very useful feature of some Japanese hotels). Everything is spotlessly clean. Our standard double room had a kettle and fridge,comfortable bed, and a good sized desk for working at. I have very few criticisms and they are minor. Like most Japanese hotels, this one has very tiny ensuite bathrooms and not wonderfully planned, but they are clean and adequate (everything was super-clean here). Breakfast wasn't brilliant (they aren't good at keeping the food warm; I'd have liked some toast) - but dinner was better with some nice things on the menu. A very good feature of this hotel for me was the friendly, sensible staff who always try to help with queries.

When I'm over in Japan for work, my default place to stay is the Midcity hotel. First of all: the staff is very very friendly, but this is Japan, and Japan is just a friendly country :-) The hotel is a no-frills, functional business-oriented hotel. Positive points: - very quiet, good isolation - very very good breakfast with extensive choice - friendly and welcoming staff - in 5 minutes walking distance from the Nasushiobara Shinkansen train station. - 7eleven in 1 minute walking distance - vending machines, washing machine, tumble dryer and microwave on ground floor - pay by credit card is no problem Negative points: - the Wifi internet connection is *very* slow, which I'd never expect in a higly technologically developed country like Japan - the opening times and reservation system in order to have dinner in the hotel restaurant is quite unclear. One day, maybe only 2 tables were occupied, and so I asked whether I could have dinner. It was said to me that I didn't make a reservation and that all was fully booked. This all while standing at the door, lookin at the empty tables :-) Half an hour later, quite early in the evening, the restaurant was already closed. Very strange :-) - there is a continuus faint smell of mold in the bathrooms. I don't know if this is due to a sewage problem, or due to mold because of the absence of silicone kit between the bath tub and the walls. - Nasushiobara is really a dead town in the evening, there is really really nothing to see, to do,... very functional :-)

Just a few blocks from the Nasu train station which has several types of trains including bullet train to Tokyo (70 minute ride). Also has a bus loop including free shuttle to garden centre outlet mall and paid public transit to Mount Nasudake for example. There’s a 7-11 store in the parking lot for snacks, wine etc. Also a few restaurants within walking distance. We found the Japanese restaurant near the bus loop at southwest end of train station (there’s a cows butt out front) was the only one open past 6pm upon arrival from Tokyo, but it was a great find. Highly recommend the ‘2F Cafe and Restaurant’ which is near the restaurant mentioned above. The hotel itself has a restaurant; however it is only open for breakfast. The hotel room is tiny even for Japanese standards and it’s difficult to fit 2 people in. There is no closet nor dresser, so you can only hang up 2 things on a hook beside the bed. Not ideal for business travellers. The toilet smells terribly and the stink takes over the entire hotel room. Front desk staff don’t speak English but will try their best to find someone to help. Some rooms overlook the train station or the mountains

I was for visit here. One nicht. Very nice and clean room. Clean hotel. And the located close to train station. Staff is very nice and helpful. This is a place I can recommend to other for shot stay..
