rooms are considered huge in tokyo - had space to open two medium and large sized luggage. room even came with microwave. also, i like that the basic plan is without housekeeping and we can choose when we wanted it done with an additional fee. this honestly saves a lot of money. also, location is within 20 mins walk of ikebukuro which is very lively but it gets pretty tiring walking back after a long day so we usually take the metro to higashi ikebukuro and take the sakura tram to the stop right beside our hotel. super convenient! but rating this a four instead of five star because of cleanliness. cleanliness in the room is okay but you can see stains on floors/walls or chips on the basin. the whole hotel looks pretty old, especially the walkway towards the laundromat.

“Affordable place for Solo Travel”

I spent 14 weeks in Tokyo for sightseeing. The hotel is close to Sunshine City (6 Minutes) and walkable distance to Ikebukuru Station (18-20 Minutes, depending on your line). Yamanote Line is 6 Minutes walking distance, Tokyo Metro 10 Minutes. The room is well orginized. Containing a small fridge, microwave, water heater and a small stove and sink, which I haven't used. Directly opposite the hotel is a 7-eleven and next to the hotel a 24h-curry restaurant chain. The next 24h supermarket is also in walkable distance (5 Minutes). However the room might feel too small for 2 people to stay in. E.g. my luggage blocked the whole hallway when opened. So keep that in mind. The staff was really friendly and could speak English pretty fluently. The only downside was that the walls where a little bit thins, so some nights I could hear my neighbours talking.

Located about 10 minute walk from Otsuka Station JR Yamanote line, hotel is small. However, the staff are friendly and helpful. The room is small which is typical of Japanese hotel room. The room is clean, bed is comfy and pillows have memory foam, the toilet and shower is also clean. It is has TV, coffee maker, small refrigerator, microwave oven, small sink, a stove. It's perfect just like a small full service apartment. We got one with free breakfast. There's a 24 hour restaurant beside the hotel where we had our breakfast. There is a wide selection of food and the staff were kind and nice. We liked our stay.

Before heading off to Kyoto I stayed here for two nights. First day we arrived at 11 so pretty much gone. It was quite a trek for a first timer due to changes from airport to Tokyo station then to the Yamanote line. Google maps was a huge help and lifesaver. It was raining when we got here so had to stop at a store to buy an umbrella. In hindsight I should have planned to stay nearer Tokyo station since I had to take the Shinkansen to Kyoto. Nonetheless we made the most of our day and Sunshine city is just a 6 min walk and can easily be a days worth of activities if you have kids in tow. Hotel itself is cozy, the staff friendly and all amenities provided at the reception desk. So you pretty much do not have to bring any toiletries. Cleanser, toner, moisturiser , toothbrush, hair ties, body towels, tea and coffee are provided. The coin laundry is a plus for me ( handy for families) Hotel rooms are small I found out later to be normal in typical Japanese chain hotels. So would not recommend for taller travellers as bathrooms are really tight I find myself knocking and bumping into things as it’s a challenge to move around. Not much space either if you have a few luggage’s don’t be prepared to use your bed to unfold luggages. So my tip: pack light, utilise laundry to just reuse clothes you can fit all your clothes in a small suitcase. In winter Uniqlo heat tech underwears are not that expensive so worth purchasing from here. ( def a lot cheaper than Australia)
