“Fantastic stay!”

Fabulous, so comfortable. Would stay here again and again, close to tourist attractions. Great as a base. Has a gym, swimming pool, breakfast, family rooms, money changes, and 7/11 downstairs. Staff incredible. So many cool places nearby. Fantastic stay!

“Enjoyable Stay”

Enjoyable stay at this lovely hotel. Close to the railway station a good location for exploring Tokyo. Visiting with a family of fifteen the Seven 11 was brilliant for drinks for our younger citizens. Rooms very good clean and tidy staff went out of their way to help. Would I say again yes.

The rooms are a good size by Japanese standards and are clean, modern, and well equipped with excellent amenities. The hotel is also in a great central location, close to the subway and surrounded by plenty of restaurants. Overall, we had no real complaints. One thing to be aware of, rather than a criticism, is that this is a very large hotel that attracts a high number of tourists. As a result, the breakfast area can become extremely busy during peak times. If you arrive around 8:30 am, expect long queues and a crowded dining room, which may be a little inconvenient. That said, the quality and selection of the breakfast were both very good. Note that this is a great hub but don't expect a true Japanese experience. I would recommend this hotel.

This hotel is located on the west side of Shinjuku station, reasonably close to Shinjuku's busiest streets yet far enough to stay quiet. Beware, however, that there are some major construction works happening at Shinjuku station. Trying to find the hotel from the station can be surprisingly difficult, especially if you are travelling with luggage. This place is classified as a 4.5 start hotel and is priced as so. The lobby area and the public space on the bottom two floors was a bit date but you can still call it upscale. The room, however, was hardly upscale. I booked a Plaza Luxe room, which I believed is one of the more premium room types. Yet the room was fairly basic and the furniture were pretty old. It was really like a 3-3.5 star hotel room, just bigger. The only thing I would call premium in this room was the toiletries. Even the view wasn't as good as I expected. My room was at 28th floor but the view was still blocked by other buildings, and the window was small anyway. While this is an old-school hotel, they don't follow the tradition to provide hotel information books in the room, instead you got a bunch of ads together with your room card. I think they probably get too many foreign tourists these days that they no longer think details matter. Despite my complaints there was one thing I really liked about this hotel: The Sky Plaza Ibasho. Located on 47th floor, you'll get a wonderful view of Tokyo day or night. It was a pretty large guest lounge that wasn't crowded at all, with many different types of seats you can sit on and enjoy the view while sipping through some soft drinks (Alcohol and food require purchase). Yes, you can probably get a better view if you go to the nearby Metropolitan Government Building's Observation Decks. But here you don't need to compete with other tourists for windows and can sit down anywhere you like. Just beware that only guests from certain room types can access this lounge. Make sure to check it before you book. For breakfast there were two buffet restaurants to choose from and I tried both: The Glass Court had a larger buffet, but was also more crowded. Jurin was smaller and quieter. Either way the breakfast was so-so, both for the food options and taste. If you can get it cheap with a package it may worth a try. But don't bother if you have to paying the full price. I also tried two of the onsite restaurants for dinner. The service was pretty good. The vibe and the food didn't stand out from other Japanese hotels I dined with. There was a convenience store on the second level, which was pretty convenient. In general, I think hotels in Shinjuku are pretty overpriced due to their location. This hotel looked like a good deal on paper, but to the end of the day, their selling point is still the location and that fantastic lounge. It's only worth it if these things do matter to you.
