Family of 3. Five y.o. daughter. Stayed 1 week. Room - Best I've had in my Japan visits. Spacious. Felt like home to our family.Not cramped up like the Tokyo standard. We got the room with the tatami area which served as our breakfast and dinner space after long days of walking. Kid had space to run around. Didn't feel cooped up. Location Proximity to station - Comfortably near a train station. Close enough to walk (15 minutes but it is straight line so very easy even with a stroller). **Look for exit 5, you'll see it along the straight line path, around 10 minutes away from the hotel. There's an elevator there which is great if you're carrying a stroller In relation to crowd density / city hotspots - The area is a sweet spot in tokyo. After going through the station, the crowd literally thins out. - Quiet area but close enough to the action. This one's a bit far but we managed to walk all the way to the Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) and even the main Shinjuku crossing, up to hotel gracery (my kid wanted to see the godzilla head). Around 20-30 minutes I think but of course we had stops along the way. Again, we were able to do this while lugging a stroller. Food/Places to go to - Lawson a few steps away. 7-11 and family mart nearby. You have a ref and a kitchenette and a dining area unlike other hotels in Tokyo. - Have kids? Yeah no problem. Playground's a short walk away, and it is connected to a very nice park with a Starbucks and a very nice breakfast place that serves cloud pancakes. No need for breakfast buffets. *tip - upon exiting the hotel, there's a "shortcut", a small side street that you can take on the right. After that, turn left, walk about a block across the bridge, and you should see the park on your right* Service - Excellent, english-proficient, and efficient Front desk. Also very helpful. During some rainy days (and tired legs), they helped us book taxis to nearby locations (flagging down taxis can be difficult, unless you have the Go app. - You get all that you need. Essential toiletries. Daily trash takeout and changing of towels. Every other day there's general cleaning of the room. - There's no buffet or breakfast like the hotels, but you won't need that! We either had konbini breakfasts or we'd walk to the park to have those pancakes.

“Everything you need for a great stay”

Stayed 8 nights recently with family. The location is quiet, yet close to the station. Rooms were spacious, clean and well equipped. Stayed 8 nights recently with family. The location is quiet, yet close to the station. Rooms were spacious, clean and well equipped. The aircon worked perfectly which was greatly appreciated as the weather was hot and humid so it was a great relief to have a cool room to return to. Front desk team were efficient and helpful. Laundry was incredibly useful and the robes and tea/ coffee available at the reception are nice adds. Would consider staying at other Mimaru or again at west shinjuku if we return to Japan.

“Good size rooms and good location”

Stayed here in February 2026 with my wife and 4 year old son as MIMARU was recommended for having good size family rooms and this was definitely the case. The room came with 4 beds, a kitchenette, small wardrobe, bathroom including a bath and a fridge and microwave. The location was good. Different stations were between 8-15 min walk but the main entrance to Shinjuku JR station seemed about 15 mins walk. A good breakfast place near the park was a regular for us with pancakes etc. There is a park with a playground for young kids about 5-6 min walk away. The hotel has a laundry but we found the dryer's to be very slow and rough on the clothing. Staff were helpful and nice. Convenient stores located very close. Would stay here again if we got a good deal. We found this on sale and the price was good but may depend on timing of your visit. Shinjuku was a good central location to explore from but the station is huge and confusing at times.

This apartment style self contained accomodation is functional, clean, comfortable and cosy. There are family marts and 7 eleven close by for breakfast takeaway meals. The onsite laundry and drying facilities are handy especially when travelling with kids. It is walking distance to the main shopping, dining area of Shinjuku as well as the Shinjuku train network - around 10 to 15 mins walk.
