We stayed at the Shimane Inn (family of four with our children age 10 and 14) in early October 2017. We found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating, and the rooms to be clean and comfortable. we also liked the location - walking distance to Omotesandō and Shibuya Station. there is a restaurant in the hotel but we did not eat there. I would definitely recommend the Shimane Inn for those who are interested in affordable, clean, no-frills lodging while spending their time seeing the sights of Tokyo.

The room was quite spacious for Japanese standards that too in Tokyo. The restroom was also bigger than certain hotels in India. It also had a small window to showcase the Tokyo traffic in Aoyama area. The reception wing had at least one person who was well convalescent in English and they were very helpful in getting us what we needed (plug in charger, umbrella etc). Centrally located and has a bus stop just outside which can take us to the nearest metro station Shibuya one stop away. It is a residential area which was very quite unlike the real Tokyo. The biggest let down was the food as the breakfast spread was very limited and not much to order from ala carte too. Luckily we were able to spot an Italian restaurant Antonio just 100 metres away which took care of our taste buds. I would recommend this place certainly for people who enjoy a quite atmosphere without the city hustle .

Simple but clean hotel, close to Shibuya station, on the main road Roppongi-dori. We stayed here for three nights primarily because we used to live about 250 metres from the hotel and so know the neighbourhood. Rooms are fine, very clean, but, as usual in Japan, not large. We ate three breakfasts and had one dinner in the hotel -- food was perfectly adequate, especially the Japanese pork cutlet dinner (donkatsu, priced at Yen 1400 for a very good set meal). It helps to speak some Japanese, since I don't know how much English the reception and restaurant staff have. Virtually all the clientele is Japanese. Price relatively low for Tokyo (about Yen 15000 per night). Close to two decent restaurants, both Italian (a pizzeria opposite the hotel; the famous Antonio just 100 metres up the road), but it is essentially a quiet residential area, although a walk to Shibuya station (15 mins away) gives plenty of eating options of all types.
