We reserved one family japanese style room for 5 persons. The staff at check-in counter is very friendly. I noticed that most customers are japanese. They provide yukata for us to wear during our stay, so we can walk around the hotel in yukata including to the hotel restaurant. The room rate includes dinner and breakfast. They serve very good and delicious food.

“Near the sea”

A long 7 hour journey from Nagoya to Kaike onsen. This Yukai resort property seems to have been recently refurbished in all the communal areas and the room itself seemed newer than other Yukai resorts. Room 525 had a side seaview aswell as views of the sunset.This room was long and narrow but had everything you could want including a small ensuite bathroom with unit bath. The staff were friendly and a few spoke quite good English which was a great help. The English signage in Yukai resort properties is limited - an explanation about how to take a bath and a few of the sections in the restaurant. Unfortunately this doesn't include all the dishes on offer so it's a case of taking a chance and trying what you like the look of! The food on offer is adequate with a selection of basic Japanese foodstuffs including sushi,sashimi ,tempura ,soba and nabe. There was also a chef on hand for breakfast to prepare tamagoyaki which was an added extra here. The hot spring baths were large and clean - one with views out to sea and the other a rock formation.The baths change over between 1am and 2am so you get the chance to try them both out and there's also a foot bath looking out to sea. There's a convenience store about 5 minutes walk away from the hotel and several places to eat about 10 minutes walk away. Being on the seafront the views are great and it's possible to walk along the seafront easily in either direction. All in all one of the nicer Yukai resort properties I have stayed at...don't be fooled by the relatively rundown appearance from the outside on the sea-facing side. Would definitely recommend as long as the long journey time is not an issue (but for 4400 yen it's by far the cheapest way to get to and from this part of Japan from Nagoya)

I stayed in Yukai Resort Kaike for 2 night. 1 night at seaview room and 1 night at Kitaro theme room. The room is clean and big enough for Kitaro Theme Room. However, both room without private bathing facilities which surprised me a lot. Even though i like Japanese Onsen, without a private bathing in room is not convenient for tourist. The view of the room is very nice, facing ocean and a beach. The beach is windy but it was always with sunshine during my stay. My friend likes the Kitaro Room very much as she is a fan of it. The food in the restaurant has a lot of variety and we tried the beef in our dinner which is nice too. All the food is very nice.
